woke up at 5 am burning up with fever. Hope to god I don't have an infection.
― corey, Monday, 2 May 2011 13:59 (thirteen years ago) link
Awwww corey. There's every chance that these two things could be totally unrelated but if I were you'd I'd go to the doc today if poss. I know that's tough without insurance but you're in Chicago, right? Is there some kind of a free care clinic you could go to?
― \(^o\) (/o^)/ (ENBB), Monday, 2 May 2011 14:01 (thirteen years ago) link
^^^^. please take care of yourself, corey
― br8080 (dayo), Monday, 2 May 2011 14:08 (thirteen years ago) link
yes, please do.

I knew a guy who shat blood. It turned out to be caused by drinking alcohol and chasing with aspirin (or tylenol, i forget). You didn't do that, did you?
Either way, go and see a professional. They are better equipped to Dx you than a crowdsourced response from "I Love TMI" ever could.
― naus, Monday, 2 May 2011 14:27 (thirteen years ago) link
xps I think so. I have no idea if they deal with this sort of thing, though.
Re: alcohol, no. I hardly ever drink, and my diet is pretty good.
― corey, Monday, 2 May 2011 14:31 (thirteen years ago) link
Cor - if they don't they'll at least be able to give you advice on where to go/who to see next.

GO TO A DOCTOR
― cop a cute abdomen (gbx), Monday, 2 May 2011 15:15 (thirteen years ago) link
do you have hemorroids?
― homosexual II, Monday, 2 May 2011 20:35 (thirteen years ago) link
I don't know. I had (really uncomfortable) sex a couple nights ago for the first time in several months, so that might have something to do with it.
Nothing else has happened in Buttland so I guess I'm okay for now.
― corey, Monday, 2 May 2011 20:39 (thirteen years ago) link
any abdominal pain? are you moving your bowels more than usual?
you do need to see a doctor immediately
― estkella (k3vin k.), Monday, 2 May 2011 20:42 (thirteen years ago) link
that post wasn't meant to be sequential, btw
― estkella (k3vin k.), Monday, 2 May 2011 20:43 (thirteen years ago) link
Oh well that sort of changes things. I was going to ask but figured you'd have mentioned it if you had. Assuming you were the anal receptive partner then that could absolutely have something to do with the bleeding esp if it was "really uncomfortable" at the time.
It would probably still be a good idea to get checked out but I realize that without insurance that might not be possible right away. :/ Take care of yourself Corey.

so had this fun surprise just an hour ago. it was bright red, didn't notice if it was in the stool or not but there was some in the water of the toilet and a lot on the paper. recently was very dehydrated and there were hard stools passed, one which may have caused a tear as there was trace bleeding after it (and it was painful), but since then, I've hydrated and gotten to feeling better.
not asking here in place of going to the doc (I already am expecting my doc will want a follow-up after my last blood work anyway), but mostly just curious, is this something I can go to my PCP and have em check rather easily or should I see a specialist if I decide to?
last time I went to my PCP for something similar she basically violated my rectum and it felt weird for days (and couldn't find a fissure or external roid). but that was 5 years ago.
also if there's something visual that is a horror story that I should be aware of let me know, otherwise I'll just make a JIC appt after this weekend if it persists.

sorry, that should have said "something visual that, if I see it, is a horror story that I should act on"

well I guess if I'm gonna get one might as well be w/ a doc I've seen since I was 18
― Neanderthal, Saturday, 28 June 2014 22:52 (ten years ago) link
oh and my diet is mostly terrible. not going to play it off like I eat a balanced breakfast lunch and dinner
the itching and the lump-esque feeling (ie, sorry to get too TMI, but the feeling of 'having to go' a lil bit when there's nothing there) suggest to me that this is an internal 'roid. ugh.

didn't happen again, and in fact symptoms subsided. though not being used to hemorrhoids, had the bright idea to eat about 20 spicy wings last night.
pain. such pain.
