lol Jimmy Carter is literally a sack of shit for criticizing the President! He is surrounded by flies! He's the worst person in the world that has a Nobel Peace Prize!

kenan, Tuesday, 22 May 2007 21:30 (sixteen years ago) link

Dude, in the labelling tradition of political cartoons, that must not be Carter but some guy named Bush Worst.

The Carter thing has elicited an astonishing outpouring of bullshit; I only wish he'd have stood his ground.

forksclovetofu, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 03:56 (sixteen years ago) link

was that last cartoon drawn by a clever 10-yr-old?

kenan, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 04:49 (sixteen years ago) link

A 10 year old lacking in any knowledge of Cuba's excellent universal healthcare system, apparently...

Neil S, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 09:51 (sixteen years ago) link

BUT FIDEL CASTRO, AN 80 YEAR OLD MAN, IS NOT IN PERFECT HEALTH!

Aside from the usual bullshit that anybody who talks about poverty who isn't squatting in it is an unserious hypocrite, using Henry VIII? they have to go to Henry VIII? How 'bout Rudy Giuliani?

fairrington's handwriting doesnt seem to mind disco

and what, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 16:10 (sixteen years ago) link

and I object to his demonization of sweaters, Carter's or others

kingfish, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 16:10 (sixteen years ago) link

I do kinda enjoy the symmetry of it making as much sense to blame Carter for The Sweaters as for any of the other shit they pin on him.

kenan, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 16:11 (sixteen years ago) link

i have to admit i still like that album carter made with giorgio moroder

elmo argonaut, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 16:14 (sixteen years ago) link

Hating disco is like a litmus test for whether or not you're a provincial moron.

kenan, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 16:14 (sixteen years ago) link

xpost HA

kenan, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 16:14 (sixteen years ago) link

The Edwards cartoon is odd, as well, since the 4 examples are all ideals that the person in question (arguably) failed to live up to, whereas poverty could never be called something anyone aims for.

And that second cartoonist needs to learn how to spell "seize"- surely that's a cardinal error amongst cartoonists?

Neil S, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 16:15 (sixteen years ago) link

Also, i find it amusing that even these schmucks aren't repping for Gonzalez

kingfish, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 17:02 (sixteen years ago) link

I didn't know Jimmy Carter was personally responsible for the invention of disco. Was that via some sort of fedral programme or what?

chap, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 17:44 (sixteen years ago) link

Can we blame GWB for EMO?

elmo argonaut, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 17:45 (sixteen years ago) link

I do like the "BARF" actually written out in a cartoon. '80s Mad Magazine had an effect on a lot of people, i see.

kingfish, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 17:49 (sixteen years ago) link

The sweaters were nice! I still put on a sweater instead of turning on the heat, Carter's advice was good!

Abbott, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 18:21 (sixteen years ago) link

I'm an ignorant Brit who doesn't really know much about American politics. Can one of you tell me which administration it was that bungled issues like UFOs and killer swamp rabbits?

V, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 18:48 (sixteen years ago) link

That was the infamous McGillicutty administration. The sentiment for years afterward was that the Irish were never again to be trusted with public office.

Curt1s Stephens, Thursday, 24 May 2007 18:41 (sixteen years ago) link

Snot-nose liberal lifestyle looks pretty good!

Dan I., Thursday, 24 May 2007 18:48 (sixteen years ago) link

The snot-nose liberal woman looks worried about the rise in Popeage, as if the cartoonist feels it's something we all agree upon that can be used as a "gotcha!". "You liberals won't be so happy when the POPE gets more influence around heeeere!" Actually, no, we won't, so maybe he's right.

Bnad, Thursday, 24 May 2007 18:57 (sixteen years ago) link

Curt1s Stephens, Thursday, 24 May 2007 19:26 (sixteen years ago) link

I have yet to understand even one of the Faithmouse strips in this thread, from Hillary Chipmunk on down

dmr, Thursday, 24 May 2007 19:55 (sixteen years ago) link

ok well I get "hey sailor" but the one above it is really wtf

GAY BEAR

dmr, Thursday, 24 May 2007 19:56 (sixteen years ago) link

They don't make LITERAL sense, you just have to let God inside of your heart, and then you will understand.

kenan, Thursday, 24 May 2007 19:57 (sixteen years ago) link

I kind of love the faithmouse stuff. It's got style.

TOMBOT, Thursday, 24 May 2007 19:57 (sixteen years ago) link

no srsly, the one about it is pretty standard "chiristians are victimized by libruls" nonsense, except this time they are as victimized as african slaves.

kenan, Thursday, 24 May 2007 19:59 (sixteen years ago) link

one ABOVE it

kenan, Thursday, 24 May 2007 19:59 (sixteen years ago) link

dude has a really oblique thought process or something

dmr, Thursday, 24 May 2007 20:00 (sixteen years ago) link

I was reading daybyday on my own for a while but I can't anymore, it's too negative now that everything douchebag believes in is being completely dismantled

TOMBOT, Thursday, 24 May 2007 20:01 (sixteen years ago) link

faithmouse is loco

and what, Thursday, 24 May 2007 20:02 (sixteen years ago) link

i have to admit the dude fairington who i kickstarted this whole right wing cartoonists game with is still my favorite, dude combines understandable right wing talking points with non-shitty art and you never get railroaded by that uneasy wtf feeling you have with most of these

and what, Thursday, 24 May 2007 20:03 (sixteen years ago) link

right wing talking points make me uneasy

kenan, Thursday, 24 May 2007 20:47 (sixteen years ago) link

The one about the lawyers makes maybe the least sense of any of these so far. It's just so weirdly... RONG.
