tylerw, Friday, 1 April 2011 18:11 (2 years ago) Permalink

You guys know that this is just his pseudonym/fake band, right?

ToeJam & Lewis (Stevie D(eux)), Friday, 1 April 2011 18:21 (2 years ago) Permalink

Fwiw the RDS alb is super rad.

billstevejim, Friday, 1 April 2011 18:25 (2 years ago) Permalink

Yes, I know. Because it's MBV.

ToeJam & Lewis (Stevie D(eux)), Friday, 1 April 2011 18:33 (2 years ago) Permalink

They've aged well.

billstevejim, Friday, 1 April 2011 18:34 (2 years ago) Permalink

I think they're just masters of disguise.

light...sweet...crude (Sanpaku), Friday, 1 April 2011 19:46 (2 years ago) Permalink

That fake looking moustache isn't fooling anyone.

Please note, no year specified.

Chewshabadoo, Thursday, 22 March 2012 15:03 (1 year ago) Permalink

ooh, 3 unreleased tracks, Angel, Good for You, How Do You Do It (are these the same as those Kevin/Belinda/Cowboy songs from a while back?)

zappi, Thursday, 22 March 2012 15:26 (1 year ago) Permalink

xp lol. also, 'releasing' is spelled wrong so they were obviously hacked.

grimes - (the elder scrolls iv:) oblivion (diamonddave85), Thursday, 22 March 2012 19:38 (1 year ago) Permalink

no vinyl

:(

the sir edmund hillary of sitting through pauly shore films (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 22 March 2012 19:38 (1 year ago) Permalink

oh, but you haven't seen that interview shields did not too recently tho, no? he emphasized his love for vinyl and how premium packaging would be in the vinyl. or that he would package cd's with the vinyl rather than have a "lesser" version. something along those lines. might be found up-thread.

altho i imagine it'll follow standard formatting: cd version, vinyl version

kelpolaris, Thursday, 22 March 2012 19:38 (1 year ago) Permalink

wait - what didn't i read?

kelpolaris, Thursday, 22 March 2012 19:42 (1 year ago) Permalink

I read that interview, he was referring to his own label, not to Sony.

the sir edmund hillary of sitting through pauly shore films (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 22 March 2012 19:51 (1 year ago) Permalink

would buy vinyl version with CD included, love it when bands do that (school of seven bells, M83)

the girl from spirea x (f. hazel), Thursday, 22 March 2012 19:51 (1 year ago) Permalink

darn darn.

still kinda bewildered sony both has an irish adjunct and that mbv has chosen this. i thought shields & co. all lived in london at this point?

kelpolaris, Thursday, 22 March 2012 19:55 (1 year ago) Permalink

am i right in thinking this must be the only thing NOT on these that came out in the 90s?

piscesx, Thursday, 22 March 2012 20:08 (1 year ago) Permalink

also their cover of map ref 41N 93W

the girl from spirea x (f. hazel), Thursday, 22 March 2012 20:17 (1 year ago) Permalink

does it have the track they did with mark eitzel reading something from that red hot comp?

akm, Thursday, 22 March 2012 20:18 (1 year ago) Permalink

"Incidental One"

all things must pass (shaane), Thursday, 22 March 2012 20:24 (1 year ago) Permalink

and "Incidental Peace" with Skylab

all things must pass (shaane), Thursday, 22 March 2012 20:24 (1 year ago) Permalink

The Wire cover really really should be on there as well.

Venga, Thursday, 22 March 2012 20:29 (1 year ago) Permalink

I'd like a good copy of "2" while we're asking.

all things must pass (shaane), Thursday, 22 March 2012 20:44 (1 year ago) Permalink

Also the remix of "Soon" is missing

Mark G, Thursday, 22 March 2012 21:16 (1 year ago) Permalink

This just in from Kevin Shields: "I had forgotten about that Wire cover. Going to delay the reissues for a year or two so I can remaster it."

tylerw, Thursday, 22 March 2012 21:30 (1 year ago) Permalink

yeah, "2" from la la la human steps would be da bomz

fwiw, i think mbv's cover of map reference is one of the greatest covers of all time. not just because i'm a fan, but b/c it epitomizes what a cover really and truly should be

kelpolaris, Thursday, 22 March 2012 21:33 (1 year ago) Permalink

mmm, Lovetone Meatball.

Not in my hands - from their Facebook page.

Spencer Chow, Friday, 27 April 2012 17:02 (1 year ago) Permalink

An appropriate cover for the comp there.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 27 April 2012 17:06 (1 year ago) Permalink

those are actually just cd's tho

kelpolaris, Friday, 27 April 2012 20:50 (1 year ago) Permalink

is anyone putting these out in the US, or am i gonna have to import?.
for some reason amazon has them listed at like $50 apiece.

BringTheAuBonPain, Friday, 27 April 2012 22:00 (1 year ago) Permalink

unreleased tracks are on youtube

jaime, Friday, 27 April 2012 22:06 (1 year ago) Permalink

I pre-ordered from Amazon.co.uk where they're about £9 + shipping which comes out to about $20/each.

Spencer Chow, Friday, 27 April 2012 22:09 (1 year ago) Permalink

Actually, I just checked and it was only $44.87 for all three shipped to the US.

Spencer Chow, Friday, 27 April 2012 22:12 (1 year ago) Permalink

I am going to play these so loud.

Spencer Chow, Friday, 27 April 2012 22:13 (1 year ago) Permalink

hmmm so only 2 of these correlate with those 3 songs that leaked a while back, interesting!

zappi, Friday, 27 April 2012 22:15 (1 year ago) Permalink

hmmm. don't like How Do You Do It at all.

heavy is the head that eats the crayons (Shakey Mo Collier), Friday, 27 April 2012 22:20 (1 year ago) Permalink

thanks, spencer. just pre-ordered.

BringTheAuBonPain, Friday, 27 April 2012 23:34 (1 year ago) Permalink

No problem. You might want to check US Amazon.com two days before it ships from the UK to see if the price has gone down here - though I doubt it will.
