ILPhoto Gallery (a thread to show off your pictures)

I took a shot of the moon with one of my 300mm lenses last night. I was shooting in jpeg without realizing it so it's not as sharp as the RAW version would have been.
This is my favourite - a 680x680 crop (so it's fairly large):

Really struggling for ideas at the moment and feel completely uninspired. Anyone else get this and if so, whet do you do about it.

not_goodwin, whenever I'm stuck for inspiration on anything I read poetry, but it has to be kickass poetry. A+ poetry totally gives you new eyes on the world. Can recommend the Bloodaxe anthologies Being Alive and Staying Alive.

Zora, thank you, I'll definitely check those out. I tend to look at other peoples photography/work for ideas, never thought about using written word as inspiration for visuals.

That one's great. The shadow on the stairs, the colours on the platform, the Ziggy Stardust brickwork, the green coat and the nervous descent... well done.

Ahem - or set aside x amount of time per week to shoot. Visualize what you want to do and your end-goal - online display vs prints etc.

I do like that shot, it looks like the kid's holding a camera, but it's the back of a car with a spare.
gbx does get out there and captures some amazing scenes. you only have to look at his wdyll's.

i see your problem.

flickr used to have a neat link to what was the .jpg of your photo, which meant posting to ilx was a cinch. now it's a drudge.

Are you trying to show one if the first three shots?
if so can i try to post?

There's a tab just above the jpg that says actions, click on the down arrow and it brings up several options, click on Grab the HTML/BBCode. Choose BBCode and the size you want, copy and paste here.

and a goofy iPhone cam+toy app of some kind (I think "Tilt-Shift Gen"?). I wish I'd taken multiple pictures so that the guys weren't standing up and blocking home plate
I wasn't big on the toy apps to start with, but I've come to really like Instagram - the only downside is that it saves the image to a ~600x600 square that can't be printed much larger than 3x3 and look good. Would love for them to update the app and save at native resolution (cropped to a square of course).
