Diana's "Upside Down" ROCKS so hard. (Too easy/difficult a task to choose any single thing by Chic proper.)

Boring choice, but nothing quite like "Good Times".

I mean, of course, "Wild Boys", "Material Girl", "China Girl" or "King For a Day" don't count, right? :-)

Matthew, you are a champ. "Give Up" friggin' rules.

I have to go with "Good Times," though. "Roller skates! Roller skates!" And a side of Tony Thompson drum fills from "Material Girl" -- I'll count it if you will, Geir.

Well, I dunno. The point is Nile Rodgers (sometimes with Bernard Edwards) did a lot of brilliant production work for other acts in the mid 80s, but I still feel those are not works of the Chic organisasion the way the Chic/Sister Sledge ones and the "Diana" album are. Amongst other things because Rodgers/Edwards didn't write the actual songs for Bowie/Duran Duran/Madonna/Thompson Twins/whoever.

And "Good Times" is so good nevertheless that I have no problem standing by that song as my choice.

one year passes...

"My Feet Keep Dancing"!

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Sunday, 4 May 2008 08:16 (fifteen years ago) link

That's my number two. Number one is "Lost in Music." And not the silly ass remixed one (sorry Soto).

Number three is Alcazar's "Crying at the Discotheque" if that counts.

nine years pass...

I never understand why Dance Dance Dance (Yowsah Yowsah Yowsah)doesn't get more love. It's a disco juggernaut.
