it took me a lot of listens to realize that they sometimes trade lead and harmony parts midway through a line. I'm a sucker for this trick, although I can't think of another example off the top of my head.

Thank you for this thread's existence. I'm such a sucker for these. Many great suggestions, already; I'll just add three:

Fleetwood Mac, "Second Hand News". When Stevie raises her voice over Lindsey's on the line "I've been tossed around enough"... good lord ...

X - "We're Desperate". Just the harmony on "some people give me the creeps" (and later, "our whole fucking life is a wreck!") can make my day.

I always come back to "I Don't Want to Spoil the Party" when thinking of these. That chorus is just so great, with that unexpected perfect fifth on the word "love"
