this philip michael thomas en espanol video is a hoot. mostly for the stuffed animal motif and the part where his doorbell rings and it sounds like a church bell. hahahaha, i love that part.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q-ZqtCqg8k

still can't find that video of his where he is going down the stairs half naked and 50 sleazy 80's ladies paw at him feverishly.

Someone explain Army of Lovers to me...?

HI DERE, Saturday, 15 September 2007 17:41 (sixteen years ago) link

Army of Lovers...I was obsessed with the video for Crucified in high school. They didn't play it on MTV but it was on the Video Juke Box and people kept requesting it because the girl was so hot. Pretty brilliant over the top gay house club silliness.

dan selzer, Saturday, 15 September 2007 17:46 (sixteen years ago) link

I understand that but I do not understand that video for "Isrealism". What, precisely, does being Jewish have do to with bathing in titty-milk?

HI DERE, Saturday, 15 September 2007 17:48 (sixteen years ago) link

Nothing that I know of. But someone wrote a comment to the effect of "Finally someone showed us how sexy Judaism can be."

Here's more on Sondra Prill but beware - she will become an addiction.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sondra_Prill

There were even more amazing videos on youtube at one point particularly the forced singalong to "The Greatest Love."

An axiom, she is.

This video for Grace Jones' "Slave To The Rhythm" cost $1 million...

Gosh, I'm not quite sure what to think of that one Curtis, but it's a hell of a good call: I really liked another song I heard of her a couple of years ago though it's made fun of in the press, it seems. You know, whatever that song she was real well known for in the UK? It isn't the one you've posted, but hell, I'm glad you did post it. Fascinating stuff.

I think this one is about as ridiculous as it gets (in a '70s stylee).

Cyndi Lauper: "She Bop"

I know the song is about female masturbation, but this video is, er, on some other level. Besides the view obvious masturbation references, does anyone have any idea what's going on there?

Yes! I'm not too late to say Lionel Richie's Hello.

He stalks a blind woman, apparently taunting her lack of sight.

That Lionel video is really cracking me up. I can only take about ten seconds of it at a time. I haven't seen that in eons and honestly didn't think I ever would. It's such a sappy song, I never liked it. His coat is so dated, too!
