I didn't darraghmac. Will definitely be spending more time up there in the near future. There's to be a wedding involving a member of my immediate family with one of yous at some point.

Oh, to answer your first question: I loved it. Just wonderful. The roads are fucking horrible though, you're right there.

Misery, soon the open sky agreement will be gone (or here, I'm unsure which) and it will all seem so much cheaper!

It is bloody freezing here today. We've had quite pleasant weather the last couple of days, but now it seems to have re-remembered that it's the West of Scotland and it's October :-/

For no particular reason, I bring you my highly dubious cat meeting a puppy.

Okay, dying of the cuteness here!

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 15:40 (sixteen years ago) link

Vet's office has called me twice this morning. Before the month is over I believe we will have given them well over $700. I think I should just start a tab. Animals will be the death of me.

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 15:46 (sixteen years ago) link

What else does the kitten have besides ringworm, Sam?

Michael White, Monday, 8 October 2007 15:50 (sixteen years ago) link

Congrats on the car, Mz M!! Now we can get up to proper Austin hijinx! Your poor kitty is having a hard time of it I take it?

patita, Monday, 8 October 2007 15:56 (sixteen years ago) link

HANG ON HOW DOES ONE SEND A DOCUMENT CLEAN OF ALL TRACKED CHANGES ETC? THIS IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 16:05 (sixteen years ago) link

What else does the kitten have besides ringworm, Sam?

Kitten apparently doesn't have ringworm (though we are suspicious of that culture's validity.) but she has some sort of protozoan parasite.

One of the cats outisde is nearly bald with ringworm and a sad case in general.

so tired. . so much work.

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 16:25 (sixteen years ago) link

CRISIS AVERTED.

I FEEL SAD FOR THE KITTIES NOW :(

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 16:27 (sixteen years ago) link

Were your changes rude?

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 16:34 (sixteen years ago) link

I highly recommend that you go fuck your aul one revert to me on this soonest. Many thanks, Senor Fuck Stick Kev-lolz.

I have been up since 4am. I am tired.

accentmonkey, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 06:14 (sixteen years ago) link

Accentmonkey, I wish! Early flights are teh bitch. Hope DVD helps. Changes weren't rude, just necessary and not something that you'd like the final recipient to see, obviously!

ATP people, link from Caribou's myspace: http://www.atpfestival.com/events/pitchfork/. Hope that's of some use.

kv_nol, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 07:29 (sixteen years ago) link

My wife's cousin's band supported Caribou in Glasgow a couple of years ago. I had to miss the end of his set to catch a train but what I caught was v good (though not as good as the support).

iirc that was the first time I met any ilxors - at a pre gig fap in the Drum & Monkey

onimo, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 09:32 (sixteen years ago) link

I remember that (well, some of it, as will not surprise anyone, I was fairly drunk). Did you not end up hanging around for ages waiting for the band to come on, when you could have been spending more time getting pished and moaning about goalkeepers with me and Scotstvo?

ailsa, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 10:05 (sixteen years ago) link

someone mention paul robinson?

darraghmac, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 10:29 (sixteen years ago) link

Not unless he was playing for Celtic two years ago.

ailsa, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 10:37 (sixteen years ago) link

The weather is miserable in Edinburgh today. Rain, rain and more rain. Just when we'd been having a nice spell.

treefell, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 10:40 (sixteen years ago) link

West of Scotland pishing down as well. Actually, it's not raining just now, but everything is a bit soggy, including the four large cardboard boxes I put out the back door last night to take to the dump this morning :-/

ailsa, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 10:44 (sixteen years ago) link

He is really excellent live. First FAP? So long ago now! (many xposts)

kv_nol, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 11:29 (sixteen years ago) link

The weather was a bit cool this morning. Under 80 at least. Though the walk from my parking spot (ah the luxury) just now was kind of sweaty due to humidity. I think the high is still due to be around 90 today. ugh. Maybe we'll get fall by Thanksgiving.

I have nothing else to contribute.

Misery, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 12:11 (sixteen years ago) link

Breakfast on Pluto may not be the best film in the world, but I lolled at Brendan Gleeson in his Great Uncle Bulgaria suit shouting "fuck you and your RAF!" and decking some bloke over a croquet mallet.

accentmonkey, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 12:25 (sixteen years ago) link

OTM. Only decent bit in it!

kv_nol, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 12:26 (sixteen years ago) link

accentmonkey, i have started a game of scrabulous with you. I need to go and get my laptop back so I can watch daytime telly AND play scrabulous AND post to ILX all day long and never ever get my life back in order ever again.

ailsa, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 12:27 (sixteen years ago) link

You should see one of those people who helps layabouts get back to work ;)

onimo, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 12:29 (sixteen years ago) link

Let's SCRAB, Ailsa.

accentmonkey, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 12:29 (sixteen years ago) link

:( I miss scrabbing.

Misery, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 12:32 (sixteen years ago) link

That twirly girly left brain right brain thing is giving me a headache now from looking at it too long and making her switch direction.

ailsa, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 13:28 (sixteen years ago) link

I have fuXored up some of my site templates trying to making them valid. I am hating myself as I don't have time to fix them. Also hating Dreamweaver.

Misery, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 13:31 (sixteen years ago) link

I ate jelly beans for my lunch and now I think I'm going to throw up. In other news: I actually quite liked Breakfast on Pluto, in a happened-across-it-by-accident kind of a way.

accentmonkey, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 13:33 (sixteen years ago) link

accentmonkey, strange things are afoot with scrabulous just now (see scrab thread for details)

ailsa, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 13:38 (sixteen years ago) link

Surmounter, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 14:41 (sixteen years ago) link

kv_nol, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 14:43 (sixteen years ago) link

xpost

Yeah I meant most people on this thread are in the UK so they're posting away while we're still snoozing. Makes for boring afternoons. :(

Misery, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 16:04 (sixteen years ago) link

ooooh ya ya

Surmounter, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 16:05 (sixteen years ago) link

I could do with a bit of gusty and grey. Proper sweater weather! This will not happen in Austin for a few weeks at least.

Time for a cup of tea. Can I get anyone anything from the kitchen?

patita, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 16:09 (sixteen years ago) link

petit buerre please.

yes, sweaters yesterday sounded like the grossest thing ever (muggy). but today i just want a bed of them!

Surmounter, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 16:10 (sixteen years ago) link

Ya think P? Maybe I'm just cynical but I think it could be warm up until Thanksgiving. Winters are so short. . .I think I only wore my coat once last year!

Misery, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 16:13 (sixteen years ago) link

It is pleasantly fresh on the east coast of the little island this evening. Me and the dogs had a good walk. Sniffed dogs' bums (them) and chatted to the neighbours about someone they know who keeps monkeys (me).

accentmonkey, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 18:23 (sixteen years ago) link

I don't keep monkeys. I just had the conversation about them.

accentmonkey, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 18:24 (sixteen years ago) link

More's the pity!

Michael White, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 18:33 (sixteen years ago) link

I was excited there for a minute, wondering how I had managed to miss the monkey facts. Also disappointed you weren't sniffing canine bums.

I have hit my afternoon slump. Not fun.

Misery, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 18:36 (sixteen years ago) link

Go for a little walk. Five minutes.

More's the pity!

I would LOVE a monkey. Just a wee one. Hey, Mister M is away for a couple of weeks. It could be moved in and everything, he couldn't turn it away once I had taught it to do sad eyes. "Do sad eyes, ickle Chee Chee" I would say, and it would wring its little hands and make sad monkey eyes and Mister M would saw "aw, wook at its wittle eyes" and divorce me for being mental.

accentmonkey, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 18:50 (sixteen years ago) link

I am having a beer. Can you tell?

accentmonkey, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 18:50 (sixteen years ago) link

Yes. Pray continue, Madame. Your droll little posts are making me chuckle today.
