Thanks all! Now comes the hard part of getting all the money sorted out! Madness altogether. Will not breathe easy until I have keys and first repayment has left account. Hoping for a quick sale anyway.

Walking in along luas (light railway) tracks (too crowded to get on, literally 4 deep at Temple Road. Insane) it appears that my top 100 on the MP3 player has completely banjaxed itself so I'm ambushed by Al Green's So Tired of Being Alone and, god help me, there I am, young, hot and with an ass that won't quit getting all Morrissey! Was very close to taking pictures of myself with hand over face. Terrible. When Milkshake kicked in straight after it did take a few seconds of mental rebooting before business as usual. Great walk in though, hadn't a clue what would kick in next.

Me and Neil have decided we need a hobby and something to do at the weekend that isn't watching football/playing World of Warcraft. So, WE ARE GOING TO GO HORSEY-RIDING! I am stupid mad excited about this, I haven't been horsey-riding since I was a nipper and I loves it and this is the best idea we've ever had ever.

ailsa, Monday, 8 October 2007 08:39 (sixteen years ago) link

Savage! I fear horses though. I think they're one meal away from killing us all in our beds!

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 08:40 (sixteen years ago) link

xxpost jesus kev you homeowners are a wordy bunch.

my GF decided 'we' needed more hobbies after six hours of watching football yesterday. this means trouble.

darraghmac, Monday, 8 October 2007 08:41 (sixteen years ago) link

She'll forget all about it once you get her a PSP.

I don't own a house yet. Just had first sum of money asked for. Nearly had heart attack!

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 08:42 (sixteen years ago) link

Well, it was my entire weekend of watching football and rugby that led Neil to decide we need to get out of the house and do stuff.

Owning houses is expensive, kv, did no-one tell you :-)

ailsa, Monday, 8 October 2007 08:43 (sixteen years ago) link

Though, to be fair, I did get out of the house. To, um, go the pub to watch football.

ailsa, Monday, 8 October 2007 08:44 (sixteen years ago) link

(xpost) not often enough!

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 08:45 (sixteen years ago) link

darraghmac, Monday, 8 October 2007 08:54 (sixteen years ago) link

Class. Where did sunshine go?

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 08:57 (sixteen years ago) link

is that a nickname for Ailsa?

darraghmac, Monday, 8 October 2007 09:02 (sixteen years ago) link

No.

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 09:11 (sixteen years ago) link

Yay! Horsies are awesomes. I remembered how much I loved horse riding after an arab saw me on his horse and decided I knew what I was doing and MADE IT GO DEAD FAST. I had to wait about 10 minutes on F, who was plodding down the path sedately as a first-time rider.

aldo, Monday, 8 October 2007 09:13 (sixteen years ago) link

Horsies going dead fast = one of the coolest things ever.

ailsa, Monday, 8 October 2007 09:15 (sixteen years ago) link

Riding bareback made it even better.

aldo, Monday, 8 October 2007 09:19 (sixteen years ago) link

That's going to end up on ILE epitaphs, isn't it.

aldo, Monday, 8 October 2007 09:19 (sixteen years ago) link

Oh hai congrats on the house Kv!!

Sarah, Monday, 8 October 2007 11:04 (sixteen years ago) link

Cheers Sarah.

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 11:06 (sixteen years ago) link

I drove to work today and parked yards from my office. I doubt anyone in Austin enjoyed their commute more.

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:04 (sixteen years ago) link

You bought a car? Finally! Here's to happier commuting.

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:12 (sixteen years ago) link

I was given a car. Which will take a bit to settle in with me as I don't like feeling beholden to others. But as it stands I have a car (albeit small and dated) which is clean, low mileage, A/Ced and was free. I am blessed.

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:16 (sixteen years ago) link

Savage.

How's your brother's thing going?

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:18 (sixteen years ago) link

He didn't get it. :( bummerz. He thanks all of my friends though who helped. He's hoping to get increased kicks business out of the exposure.

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:19 (sixteen years ago) link

Buggery. Well I liked his shoes. Plz to link?

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:20 (sixteen years ago) link

Also, 3 reasons why I can believe that Mayo is a great place to live:

Apologies for crappy camera-work!

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:22 (sixteen years ago) link

Here's the main site which his crap webmaster (e.g. me) has not finished. It links to his MySpace though.

I need to get him to make some more, but a bit tamer than the ones he's given me. The bulk of his clients right now are rappers and while the type of shoes he makes for them are awesome onstage, not so much for a small white girl doing non-hip-hop things in Austin.

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:24 (sixteen years ago) link

Damn, that is unbelievably beautiful. Where is Mayo? I love UK coastlines much more than our own.

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:24 (sixteen years ago) link

mayo is the west of ireland. where i live. not to be smug, but:

darraghmac, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:32 (sixteen years ago) link

bastard. I can't find any pics of my area probably b/c it's so boring. (granted there are lovely places west of Austin but only the rich people live there.)

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:34 (sixteen years ago) link

actually, that's with me behind the lens, it just looks really good anyway..

darraghmac, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:36 (sixteen years ago) link

Yeah, hush. there is nothing to show even if I took a picture myself.

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:37 (sixteen years ago) link

How cold is that water? It almost looks like LOST! Okay, I really need to focus on work. The drive and big latte I stopped for have gotten me wound up.

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:38 (sixteen years ago) link

apologies, if it helps the roads are truly awful. xpost

yeah, back to work.

darraghmac, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:38 (sixteen years ago) link

Awful like dirt or awful like traffic?

ahh, I've gotten to the point where I'm burnt out on work. But only one week to the launch of three sites. argh. Also I'm still alone in the office which makes me feel like I shouldn't bother working.

Are you all at home/pub already?

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:44 (sixteen years ago) link

I'm just about to go out to the shops. Then I'm going to do something about my work situation.

My new house is situated in such a way that I can sit here in front of the computer and watch planes taking off all day from Glasgow Airport, thus making me insanely jealous that I am not going on holiday.

ailsa, Monday, 8 October 2007 12:47 (sixteen years ago) link

Haha this is how LONDON does beaches, bizzitches:

http://www.urban75.org/london/images/beach01.jpg

Have been on phone to law school people all "lunchtime", "lunch" in quote marks as I haven't had a chance to get anything and this evening is ALL classes and I am never going to eat EVER omg.

Sarah, Monday, 8 October 2007 13:02 (sixteen years ago) link

Which actually probably is a good idea seeing as all you can eat sushi and cupcakes have made me put on 2lbs and when you've got another 7lbs to go is a BIG DEAL wah, neuroticism is me.

Sarah, Monday, 8 October 2007 13:03 (sixteen years ago) link

(Not 'all you can eat cupcakes', just 'all you can eat sushi')

(Although I did eat a lot of cupcakes but if you are the cook it is EXPECTED nay DEMANDED for quality control innit).

OH MAN and I meant to quit the gym at lunchtime and couldn't get out so forgot, buh.

Sarah, Monday, 8 October 2007 13:04 (sixteen years ago) link

That looks like the "lake" which runs through downtown Austin. It is actually the Colorado River dammed up a bit.

Alright, well, it does look better than London:

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 13:07 (sixteen years ago) link

I didn't have the most fun ever at the one beach party I went to I have to say, but I had considerably overdone it on the stuff so what do I expect, messy, messy, very messy.

Sarah, Monday, 8 October 2007 13:17 (sixteen years ago) link

More Mayo to fight off Austin expansionism :)

Thanks for link Ms. M. Everyone post views that they like and have actually seen themselves. I would like this very much if we could do this thing together.

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 13:46 (sixteen years ago) link

atlantic drive is a pretty good spot for views/photos alright. i take it you approved kev?

did you get as far as achill?

darraghmac, Monday, 8 October 2007 13:48 (sixteen years ago) link

You are making me sad. :(

I at least want a holiday to such climes.

Misery, Monday, 8 October 2007 13:54 (sixteen years ago) link

I didn't darraghmac. Will definitely be spending more time up there in the near future. There's to be a wedding involving a member of my immediate family with one of yous at some point.

Oh, to answer your first question: I loved it. Just wonderful. The roads are fucking horrible though, you're right there.

Misery, soon the open sky agreement will be gone (or here, I'm unsure which) and it will all seem so much cheaper!

kv_nol, Monday, 8 October 2007 13:59 (sixteen years ago) link

It is bloody freezing here today. We've had quite pleasant weather the last couple of days, but now it seems to have re-remembered that it's the West of Scotland and it's October :-/
