considering a cat

bernard weighed 9 lbs when we moved here (he has a setting on our scale, haw.) he now weighs 12 lbs. he moved here october!

2x obese like max?

i have no idea what lyle weighs. he's a pretty big/long cat, but he seems reasonably svelte so far

horatio is 15 lb 5 oz i think

horatio has the best eyes.

lyle did eat a fly yesterday tho. it was kind of gross

i mean he's gotten up out of his basket a couple of times tbh which is an improvement

considering this: when i put a plate of food (or a plate i just ate off of) next to me on the couch, she always comes and "cleans" around it but she is never interested in eating my food. she must know it's food if she does that thing, but how does she know it's food if she doesn't want to eat it? is she just trying to save me from enemies?

i think she is just very polite and knows that you saved her so how dare she try to steal your food!

it's true it might be a submission thang. cats is weird.

my ivan just came crawling up to sleep in my armpit as i recline on bed with laptop. he's not normally so directly affectionate.

well there are some human foods she will eat, but not many. she can't resist tuna or sardines.
she's sitting on my lap atm. i can't sit on the couch without her getting into my lap. she is very affectionate but also very shy.

do your guys cats ever do that "nothing going on here, i'm just grooming myself" face-saving move when they are embarrassed like when they screw up a big jump or whatever?
