hey you guys, good dubstep is good, bad dubstep is bad. that first yt that deej posted is terrible, but you guys sound mad clueless when you dismiss a whole genre that has become really varied & inclusive.

I respect the fuck out of Burial and dudes, but personally I haven't heard a single dubstep album I've liked (except maybe King Midas Sound if that counts). Its especially disheartening now that it's falling down this Juno-ization/GvsB-ization with shit like Darkstar and James Blake. Terrible shit that.

I agree the new Darkstar album is terrible. They made the wrong aesthetic choice, especially after "Aidy's Girl Is a Computer" is amazing.

the irony is that i don't much like burial or darkstar or james blake either. or "dubstep" much. but there's music within the orbit of dubstep, that i wouldn't necessarily call dubstep myself, that's some of the best music being made atm. ikonika, guido, girl unit, jam city, julio bashmore, optimum, subeena, joker, ramadanman, untold, deep teknologi, altered natives...
