I don't know if I qualify as cool or not, but will give it a try, if only to assist your efforts, John.

Also: I'M HOME!!! Yay. :)

happy thanksgiving everyone! i am in chicago, had a very hectic thanksgiving: off the plane, straight to jordan's parents' house with all the family and family friends. and it was not vegetarian afterall - i got to eat turkey for the first time and it was FUCKIN A+++ would eat again!

also: jordan's parents got me a SIGNED mary ellen mark photography book for my birthday!! and his mum made me this really gorgeous beaded necklace. i am feeling rather spoiled. she also hemmed my pants.

Whoa, awesome first American Thanksgiving, RR!

:)

Sara R-C, Monday, 1 December 2008 01:55 (fifteen years ago) link

Were you veggie before the turkey?

La Push It (Susan), Monday, 1 December 2008 13:43 (fifteen years ago) link

i am not ready to go back to school/work! eeeek! (though my bank acct sure is!)

very quotatious (tehresa), Monday, 1 December 2008 14:56 (fifteen years ago) link

I thought J was veggie, RR wasn't.

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Monday, 1 December 2008 15:17 (fifteen years ago) link

yes i believe rr is carnivorous and j is vegan.

very quotatious (tehresa), Monday, 1 December 2008 15:18 (fifteen years ago) link

do they not have turkeys in new zealand?

very quotatious (tehresa), Monday, 1 December 2008 15:18 (fifteen years ago) link

What a sad thought! ;_;

Sara R-C, Monday, 1 December 2008 15:19 (fifteen years ago) link

Turkeys are native to this part of the world. Do they even have them in Europe?

I'm glad you a good holiday RR!

La Push It (Susan), Monday, 1 December 2008 15:24 (fifteen years ago) link

Turkeys are so delicious that they should be everywhere by now. Lazy turkeys.

Sara R-C, Monday, 1 December 2008 15:32 (fifteen years ago) link

I made stuffing for the Thanksgiving dinner I was invited to and just finished the last of it. Active ingredients: pancetta, mushrooms, wild rice and Italian sausage.

Meat ROFL (suzy), Monday, 1 December 2008 16:51 (fifteen years ago) link

no, i'm not vegan, altho i've been mostly vegetarian sinced i moved to the US. but turkey isn't really eaten in nz. you can get them, but it's not very common and it's not a traditional holiday roast. i think this one was organic/freerange which is why it tasted so good.

omg, today jordan told me he had a surprise for me... i looked out the window and EVERYTHING is blanketed with snow! i've seen anything like it before! (i've seen snow on a mountain a couple of times but never in someone's backyard)

also, for sara: we were talking about weather/places to live and jordan said he'd love to live in minnesota... so maybe one day we'll be neighbours!

i don't really like sausage, but italian sausage is divine.

suzy, your stuffing sounds awesome!

RR, plz to move in next door to me. :) ps we can hook you guys up on the snow thing - often to the point of "OMG it's freaking April, how can it snow again?!..."

Sara R-C, Monday, 1 December 2008 17:55 (fifteen years ago) link

Snow? What is that? there's starting to be a bite in the air though. I just went out for lunch w/out my coat and regretted it.

I made cornbread dressing this weekend. Simple but so holiday-delicious.

La Push It (Susan), Monday, 1 December 2008 18:57 (fifteen years ago) link

My stuffing will give you a heart attack two completely different ways.

Meat ROFL (suzy), Monday, 1 December 2008 19:00 (fifteen years ago) link

^^^that stuffing is an overachiever

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Monday, 1 December 2008 19:03 (fifteen years ago) link

Don't worry, guys, I'm trained to use an AED. Eat up.

Sara R-C, Monday, 1 December 2008 19:24 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm really feeling overwhelmed by my job today. Makes me want to bury my head online somewhere but the Web is so boring these days.

I'd like a heart attack by french fries if possible.

La Push It (Susan), Monday, 1 December 2008 19:29 (fifteen years ago) link

we had amazing stuffing. it contained turkey sausage, apples, onions, a splash of cider, and was then baked IN hollowed out tomatoes for added awesome.

very quotatious (tehresa), Monday, 1 December 2008 19:31 (fifteen years ago) link

I am envying all of these stuffings!!!

Sara R-C, Monday, 1 December 2008 20:01 (fifteen years ago) link

xp Susan, I'm overwhelmed by everything right now, so maybe we can have a club. French Fries allowed.

Sara R-C, Monday, 1 December 2008 20:01 (fifteen years ago) link

OK so sourdough breadcrumbs, basmati and wild rice, garlic, onions, carrots, chestnut and Potobello mushrooms, giblets, chicken stock, wine, Italian sausage, pancetta. Anything not meaty fried in olive oil and butter, half the stock used in cooking of rice, add appropriate-to-sausage herbs and OH FUCK I NEED TO MAKE SOME MORE.

Meat ROFL (suzy), Monday, 1 December 2008 20:39 (fifteen years ago) link

yummmmmm

Sara R-C, Monday, 1 December 2008 22:03 (fifteen years ago) link

double feature tonight at my house of "shrooms" a horror movie about people on shrooms. getting killed. and popaganda, a documentary about ron english and billboard reclamation. both good in very different ways.

t (o_O t) (John Justen), Tuesday, 2 December 2008 07:13 (fifteen years ago) link

Good lord, John, I don't even know how you find these movies. Did K. watch "shrooms" with you? (If so, I think you have a sign of true devotion there.)

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 2 December 2008 07:34 (fifteen years ago) link

tza, sorry about your giant project-o-rama. I'm about ready to burn my textbooks and flee back to Disney World. I'm sure they would let me be a janitor if nothing else.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 2 December 2008 07:34 (fifteen years ago) link

did i mention that they are doing shrooms and getting killed IN IRELAND?

t (o_O t) (John Justen), Tuesday, 2 December 2008 08:06 (fifteen years ago) link

also there is a feral child and a talking cow and a doomed surviving twin that wears a burlap bag over his head. and jokes (sort of) about high irish hillbillies having sex with livestock.

t (o_O t) (John Justen), Tuesday, 2 December 2008 08:08 (fifteen years ago) link

t (o_O t) (John Justen), Tuesday, 2 December 2008 08:13 (fifteen years ago) link

Oh, well, as long as it was in Ireland, that makes it all okay then.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 2 December 2008 08:15 (fifteen years ago) link

I mean, really, IRELAND.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 2 December 2008 08:15 (fifteen years ago) link

Sadly, I now have to go to bed instead of picking on John's heritage, choice of movies to view, and whatever else comes to mind.

good night, all.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 2 December 2008 08:16 (fifteen years ago) link

I think I could take the cgi complaint if it wasn't used as frequently as the protools complaint is used to complain about music.

Also how mad at myself will I be at myself tomorrow for staying up this late and not hitting 80 in WoW? I only have maybe 17% to go!

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Tuesday, 2 December 2008 08:44 (fifteen years ago) link

lol virtual underachievements

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 2 December 2008 08:46 (fifteen years ago) link

If I had started playing when I got home, I would have hit 80 2 hrs ago.

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Tuesday, 2 December 2008 08:54 (fifteen years ago) link

wow dude it is really late where you all are

MINOTAUR FACEPLANT IS ITS OWN REWARD (John Justen), Tuesday, 2 December 2008 08:58 (fifteen years ago) link

It is really late where you are, too!

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Tuesday, 2 December 2008 09:04 (fifteen years ago) link

I work 1400-2200 normally, late is my steez and you all know this

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 2 December 2008 09:05 (fifteen years ago) link

I'll be glad when all you ladies are done with school.

I'm pulling my hair at this inane paper I have to do for G. by Friday. Entry-level English should be this difficult for a summa cum laude grad of the subject, should it?

La Push It (Susan), Tuesday, 2 December 2008 13:44 (fifteen years ago) link

also btw dan the gf was giving you mega-thumbs-up today for rocking the quantum of solace thread and starting the how should people die when they hate cgi poll

Truly an awesome person.
