don't get the big deal w/r/t "round and round" -- i mean it's okay, but.....?

think "CMYK" is the better james blake track..

worst sleigh bells song at #14, there's a reason the album is awesome but none of the other songs sound like fucking "rill rill"

i don't think i would label any song from that album a "standout," but at least I see how p4k could (stupidly) think "'All I Want' = our '"Heroes"'!!!

IMO this is the best P4k EOY Track list in years. The last two or three had some real garbage, but this one seems pretty OTM for their audience and taste.

it does seem like a lot of the choices are right, among the artists that they rep for

Tainted by Newsom in the top 10...otherwise, it's decent.

but if you were to pick any one track on that album to represent it, that would be it

21. Azari & III - "Reckless (With Your Love) (Tensnake Remix)"

this is one of the most overrated trax of the year imo - don't get me wrong i really, really like it, would bruk out in a club, it's a lot of fun - but if you're going to reward azari & iii or tensnake or that sort of music, there's a lot better out there, and it all just looks a bit like a really lame "lolz i recognise a c&c music factory sample lolz" reaction.

obviously it's one of the best tracks in the p4k list but my eyes are just glazing over at most of it - i only criticise this cuz i like it

James Blake vocal album to dominate next year's lists? I'm pretty perplexed at the hype he's getting.

I can't be the only person that thought LCD were spudjged out at #12 and was surprised to see them reappear at #3. I don't mind 'I Can Change' but it does sound like it was written to be bedding music on a top 100 countdown. In fact I'll be prepared to bet it gets used in Channel 4's Top 100 Toys this weekend.

me too - i find his stuff pretty lifeless and awkward tbh. it's weird, i hear music by a ton of producers in this scene, and i actively dislike very very few - when it's bad it's just boring or uninspired - but i def dislike his stuff. and yet, here we are, crossover hype. it should be girl unit getting all of this tbh.

Suppose he ticks a lot of boxes, dubstep influence, messing around with R&B samples but moving towards more traditional songcraft. Yep, he's gonna be inescapable.

I was surprised it was I Can Change so high, I do like it but Dance Yrself Clean is obviously the best song on that album.

Pleased with their Arcade Fire choice in the top 10, I wasn't a fan of the album at all but that's a great song.

not a list per se, but i always enjoy reading dusted magazine's idiosyncratic year-end wrap-up feature.

Yeah, no matter what other lists do Dusted is guaranteed to be 90% stuff I never knew existed.

So glad to see "Desire Lines" up that high. I realize it wasn't an official "single" and thats why it hasn't been popping up on lists that are defined by such, but such an amazing song.

Wait Ned, you've been avoiding Sleigh Bells because of "Rill Rill"??? Did no one tell you that there are 2/3 songs on there where they are channeling Lush via dance beats?

I've heard a rumor to the effect. (Crucial difference between them and School of Seven Bells -- the latter did not have a really annoying song oversold to me as the greatest new thing around that put me off further investigation.)

I have to agree with the general anti-"Rill Rill" sentiment. I like the song just fine and think it's a nice little respite on the album, but it seems weird that a publication such as Pitchfork would praise the band with great hyperbole for it's trademark sound and then pick the one song where they do the complete opposite sound as the best example of their musical talent. "Tell Em'" seems the obvious choice to me.

I like "Rill Rill" well enough but that is so not my go-to song on the album; that would be "Run the Heart":

Infinity Guitars was the one that finally hooked me, but I don't think it's one that falls neatly into the "Lush-in-the-red" category.

Sleigh Bells' performance opening for LCD Soundsystem was one of the most awful things I've ever seen.
