It's called "Life After Tomorrow"...they were airing it on A&E a while ago. Really worth finding, I enjoyed it.
Meanwhile, I think we need a song break

I liked him describing the "izzo/izzay" type of suffixes as "a kind of pig latin." I'd never thought that, but... yeah, that's about right.

Funny, I just showed this to my kids for the first time. Am I right that there's no adequate transfer of this on DVD? Only cropped or pan and scan?

1. Carol Burnett should've been nominated for and maybe won an Oscar for her pratfalls in "Easy Street" alone.2. It was because of this movie that I used to, as a 6 year old, use the term "Bolshevik" as an insult.

This was always on HBO or something when we first got cable but I'm still not sure if I ever actually saw it all the way through in one sitting, it was like I caught bits of it here and there each time. Carol Burnett ruled.
― Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 7 December 2010 04:46 (thirteen years ago) link
Downloaded a rip of the soundtrack to add "Maybe" to my karaoke playlist. The banter at the beginning of "Sign" is pretty hilarious without the visuals.
Burnett: "My GOD, is that thing real?!"

Love how Burnett talks to the radio at the beginning of 'Little Girls'
I think she's part of the reason I've always been mildly nervous around drunk ppl, lol

I hate the belters, they remind me of every girl between the ages of ten and thirteen thinking they could be a Broadway star. The movie isn't bad though, the actress playing Annie is really low key.

What are you talking about, we loved it - stage moms across America threw a fit when that girl was cast in the movie because she didn't sing and act like their little diva in training!

(Maybe) is the best song in the musical, imo.
I think that even without Jay-Z, I'd still vote for "Hard Knock Life" as the best song.

The girls doing their Mrs. Hannigan impressions works, as they say, on so many levels. And the acrobatics in this number!

BTW, I'd never noticed it, but Viceroy is right about there being a whole lot of panty shots in this movie. At one point in "Easy Street," Bernadette Peters hikes up her skirt ALL the way. ALL.

I can't even tell you how much I love this movie. It was the first movie I ever saw in the theater. I was four but I remember how awesome the whole experience was very very clearly. I know most of the songs by heart and many are amazing.
i love "maybe" and it is a great warm-up song
i sing it in the car all the time

I can't even tell you how much I love this movie. It was the first movie I ever saw in the theater.
I never saw Annie in a theater, but I vividly remember seeing both Star Wars and Grease in the theater, and Grease sticks in my mind WAY more than Star Wars ever did.

we should stage an all-ilx production. We could even have a different Annie for each number so everyone gets a chance at a big song.
