i was in a dance troupe that got to go to nyc to do all this weird, cool stuff you don't normally get to do in nyc. it was like the ultimate fantasy unreal nyc trip for a teenage girl.

This was always on HBO or something when we first got cable but I'm still not sure if I ever actually saw it all the way through in one sitting, it was like I caught bits of it here and there each time. Carol Burnett ruled.

Downloaded a rip of the soundtrack to add "Maybe" to my karaoke playlist. The banter at the beginning of "Sign" is pretty hilarious without the visuals.

I think that even without Jay-Z, I'd still vote for "Hard Knock Life" as the best song.

BTW, I'd never noticed it, but Viceroy is right about there being a whole lot of panty shots in this movie. At one point in "Easy Street," Bernadette Peters hikes up her skirt ALL the way. ALL.

when i was little, "easy street" and "never fully dressed" were my favorites; the latter still is, but it's tied with "maybe" now

I can't even tell you how much I love this movie. It was the first movie I ever saw in the theater. I was four but I remember how awesome the whole experience was very very clearly. I know most of the songs by heart and many are amazing.
