Have just arrived home from pub. Met Emsk and the Russian and Kev-lol and the Vicar and Rener and YMOF and Weasel Diesel. Delivered cake to Kev-lol, received DVD of Master and Commander in return. All is right with the world.

accentmonkey, Thursday, 4 October 2007 23:09 (sixteen years ago) link

Did the Vicar respond to any questions with "No! Fuck you!"?

Rock Hardy, Friday, 5 October 2007 00:25 (sixteen years ago) link

Um, yes. Yes he did.

accentmonkey, Friday, 5 October 2007 06:56 (sixteen years ago) link

Dear Ms Monkey,

On behalf of myself and SO, with whom I plan on eating cake later, many thanks for lovely cake!

Yours in OM NOM NOM NOM

Kv

PS. I am very onimoed. We didn't leave until closing. I am a broken man!

kv_nol, Friday, 5 October 2007 08:14 (sixteen years ago) link

I just feel a bit sick. We've had ridiculously rich food two days in a row, including desserts and so forth, and I'm just not used to it anymore. Bleuuch.

accentmonkey, Friday, 5 October 2007 08:46 (sixteen years ago) link

I hear you. It's such a strain on the digestive system. I used to work for a guy who went to L'Ecrivain at least twice a week, sometimes 3 or 4. He was the most horrific shade of puce!

How is xbox? Did you both see sun up?

kv_nol, Friday, 5 October 2007 08:48 (sixteen years ago) link

No, I went to bed straight away. Mister M stayed up a little bit, but I am going into town tomorrow to go to the theatre and have had to find a date to go with me, because he's going to stay at home and commune with Gears of War or whatever it's called.

accentmonkey, Friday, 5 October 2007 08:52 (sixteen years ago) link

Sorry accentmonkey I feel for you but I totally see where he is coming from:

Theatre = teh_lame, Gears of War = OMG SCARY ALIENS ROFL WTF ;_;

kv_nol, Friday, 5 October 2007 08:56 (sixteen years ago) link

What time do you hear about the apartment, kv? I still have my legs crossed for you (oh-er missus, etc.)

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 5 October 2007 09:05 (sixteen years ago) link

If it's that bad, you can go for a wee GB!

I'll be calling at 12:00. Hopefully he'll call me with good news first *touches wood* (oh-er missus, etc.)

kv_nol, Friday, 5 October 2007 09:23 (sixteen years ago) link

bunch of decadent dublin sots.

darraghmac, Friday, 5 October 2007 09:27 (sixteen years ago) link

Jealousy is so hick.

kv_nol, Friday, 5 October 2007 09:30 (sixteen years ago) link

beween hick jealousy and spurs-fan sense of entitlement my online persona is really hoovering up the brownie points lately.

ok, i'm not gonna post to ilx again today, yesterday's workload is now over my left shoulder height-wise on my desk. gluck again with residency kev.

darraghmac, Friday, 5 October 2007 09:36 (sixteen years ago) link

Thanks darragh. Thank goodness for hangover, decently distracting!

kv_nol, Friday, 5 October 2007 09:41 (sixteen years ago) link

How does a household consisting of two grown people manage to completely run out of shampoo? We haven't even got any of those Aveda testers lying around. Jesus.

accentmonkey, Friday, 5 October 2007 10:20 (sixteen years ago) link

Oh! Thank you monkey, this reminds me I need to get conditioner at lunchtime! PHEW! I have been stealing the flatmates (it works quite well - v surprising). If I lived by myself I'd be in a terrible state.

Perhaps you should try one of those homemade shampoos, ie crack an egg over yr bonce.

Sarah, Friday, 5 October 2007 10:28 (sixteen years ago) link

Wash yr hair in BEER! (waste of good beer, tbh, but it apparently works)

ailsa, Friday, 5 October 2007 10:33 (sixteen years ago) link

First ATP announced, no bands I really fancy yet, BACK AT FUCKING CAMBER.

aldo, Friday, 5 October 2007 10:36 (sixteen years ago) link

You're kidding? Why?

onimo, Friday, 5 October 2007 10:37 (sixteen years ago) link

Also, where is announcement?

onimo, Friday, 5 October 2007 10:37 (sixteen years ago) link

Link plz? Nothing on the ATP website.

xpost

ailsa, Friday, 5 October 2007 10:40 (sixteen years ago) link

On the dis boards. SeeTickets were selling them for a short time but have pulled them again.

Also, lulz at ATP website being updated.

aldo, Friday, 5 October 2007 10:44 (sixteen years ago) link

I lied, SeeTickets still have them:

MORE DETAILS ABOUT THIS EVENT

CURATED BY ATP Vs PITCHFORK

CONFIRMED LINE-UP INCLUDES Sebadoh, Ween, Man Man, Dirty Projectors,
Glass Candy, Pissed Jeans, Fuck Buttons, Apse, Caribou, Los Campesinos
and of montreal.

aldo, Friday, 5 October 2007 10:50 (sixteen years ago) link

Bloody hell that's expensive! I wouldn't mind seeing Caribou though. Fuck Buttons? Deeeeadly!

kv_nol, Friday, 5 October 2007 10:56 (sixteen years ago) link

So to recap, it's more expensive than Minehead, smaller and shitter. GOOD WORK FOUNDATION.

aldo, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:00 (sixteen years ago) link

That's not doing much for me so far, tbh.

(xpost, and further away from your house, eh?)

ailsa, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:00 (sixteen years ago) link

One weekend only? It's doing nothing for me either.

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:02 (sixteen years ago) link

THERE IS A GEOGRAPHIC PROBLEM, YES.

The other weekend is in May as well, so I'm guessing 16-18. At least snow will be only a remote possibility.

aldo, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:03 (sixteen years ago) link

Snow and Dungeness is good, though.

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:08 (sixteen years ago) link

Also being nearer your chalet if you need to go back and get pished food.

ailsa, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:09 (sixteen years ago) link

That's true, the chalets are closer (and handier for seeing Philip Roebuck play outside the Queen Vic from your kitchen).

Apols for hijacking No Pants with ATP talk btw, but I think most people who go post here.

aldo, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:11 (sixteen years ago) link

No worries.

FUCKING CNUTING ESTATE AGENT SCUMBAG CHOAD SWALLOWING SHITE FER BRAINS BABY FISTER

Still no real news from him.

kv_nol, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:24 (sixteen years ago) link

I liked their last album.

aldo, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:27 (sixteen years ago) link

baby fister is possibly a leetle strong, I am going to be a godfather at the weekend after all.

darraghmac, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:34 (sixteen years ago) link

Oh? Nice. Congrats.

kv_nol, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:35 (sixteen years ago) link

and, cos i can't resisit the plug:

http://www.geocities.com/darraghmac/grace.jpg

darraghmac, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:40 (sixteen years ago) link

Fuck Buttons are aces. But they are not quite 150 quid's worth of aces on their own, no. With Pissed Jeans too? Maybe, but, oh, I can never go to ATP. Come and play Oxford while you're over, Pissed Jeans!

(Sweariest thing I have yet posted from work! don't get me in trouble, you crazy music types)

a passing spacecadet, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:44 (sixteen years ago) link

Okay it (boy/girl?) is ridiculously cute!!!

kv_nol, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:46 (sixteen years ago) link

haha, that kid's got excellent hair

ailsa, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:47 (sixteen years ago) link

we used to call her 'it' too, but then found out she was actually called grace.

darraghmac, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:48 (sixteen years ago) link

Lovely name. Also OTM re. hair Ailsa.

kv_nol, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:49 (sixteen years ago) link

i'll pass it on. we're thinking about getting her tartan installations.

darraghmac, Friday, 5 October 2007 11:55 (sixteen years ago) link

So, wait, if the Pants-free gang are thinking of skipping ATP, how will I get my hands on Aldo's sausages?

(Seriously, I know you're all bored with it, but it never gets old for me.)

accentmonkey, Friday, 5 October 2007 13:22 (sixteen years ago) link

There will be a 2nd week of ATP, probably the following week. We are keenly awaiting news of curators before taking the plunge.

Are we to assume return to Camber means they're struggling to sell out Minehead?

onimo, Friday, 5 October 2007 13:25 (sixteen years ago) link

Didn't say not going, just not massively tempted by P4k weekend. Apparently announcement embargoed till 3. (xpost)

They sold out the Portishead one, so I don't see why they couldn't again. I suspect it's Hogan still wanting to say SOLD OUT despite being unsure he's got a decent enough line-up.

aldo, Friday, 5 October 2007 13:26 (sixteen years ago) link

I've been to one Minehead ATP and one Camber Sands. I thought Cambers Sands was way better. More atmosphere or something.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Friday, 5 October 2007 13:32 (sixteen years ago) link

T/S:
Minhead has much better chalets - better condition and the notion of actually having rooms for everyone is better.
Minehead has free electric.
Minehead doesn't charge you for broken toilet seats.
Minehead has little women who come in when you are onimoed and do your dishes for you.
Minehead has big TVs for SingStar.
Minehead has a few possibilities for sunday lunch without having to drive.
Minehead has el cheapo cider farm on the way.
Camber has a fried chicken place, but it is shite.
It's much easier to carry drinks round in Camber, and the layout works better.
Camber has Dungeness, if you can be arsed going.
Camber has a better beach for rolypolys, even if there is piles of tarry shite on it.
The chalets in Camber are closer to the venues.
I only got chatted up the once in Minehead.

Tight call.

aldo, Friday, 5 October 2007 13:43 (sixteen years ago) link

omg i haven't been here in while

good morning and good tidings to all

Surmounter, Friday, 5 October 2007 13:51 (sixteen years ago) link

aldo, Friday, 5 October 2007 13:54 (sixteen years ago) link
