OK, I haven't gone to any other forums, but it'd be pretty damn funny if someone said that. Have I mentioned I'm fine with people liking whatever music they like? It's just that people are so persistent in claiming it's impossible NOT to like their favorite band really rub me the wrong way.

I was at a bar recently with a live DJ that, I have to honestly admit, I have no clue what he was playing. Mostly from not listening too intently, although there was some house. some pop music mashup type stuff. Someone I know went over for his girlfriend to request some Dave Matthews or Jack Johnson. The DJ said he had none, and had never heard Jack Johnson. I then had to drunkenly explain that it's totally possible, because they thought it was impossible to not know the music. I was also informed it's impossible to not like these artists. They acted like the DJ was an asshole, although I mentioned that it was pretty ridiculous to request something there's a 0% chance of him having. I really should break down the rest of the conversation that night down into a thread, it was incredibly frustrating.

There are assholes who make these claims for all sorts of music, and we're calling down the lightning luring them here.. I hope you guys know what you're up to.
