He looks far too eager to please.

I'm listening to St. Elsewhere. Forgot what a good album it is.

Okay, the hyper coffee-high has worn off. I usually don't drink coffee in the morning. Somber work mood has taken me over. Which is good. The site we put up yesterday has many small imperfections which drives me crazy. Nothing worse than putting up a site which other developers can find fault in.

Worth watching past the Roomba, well, for a day like today anyway

the one i think i will seriously consider in 10-20 yrs is my neck: the women on my mum's side of the family all have turkey neck and i am just not about to roll like that.

Of all my bad features, I loathe my chin the most. ugh. But surgery might be a bridge to far for me. Because I'm cheap and I fear pain.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 26 November 2008 20:24 (fifteen years ago) link

oh but the painkillers!

Ed, Thursday, 27 November 2008 18:19 (fifteen years ago) link

Yay Thanksgiving rah and all. May all sick people be well! (Good friend Stripey is kinda sick today so that's going to put a pall on the get-together a bunch of us are having.)

I do not approve of all this people being sick thing, and must insist that everyone self-medicate tonight with hot toddies. Boozy ones.

Sara R-C, Friday, 28 November 2008 01:48 (fifteen years ago) link

Happy thanksgiving you foolish mortals

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Friday, 28 November 2008 05:04 (fifteen years ago) link

continuing my regular reporting of great stuff i have enjoyed, the movie The Signal was stunningly and shockingly good, 28 Days Later via David Lynch, including totally out of the blue humor and way more creepy dread than jump out at you scares. One of the best Netflixed movies I've seen this year. Also The Ten was great in a "guys from the state attempt to make an American The Meaning Of Life and kind of sometimes succeed" sort of way.

Anyone have any messages they want to send a drunk Fluffy Bear? I will be seeing one tomorrow.

t (o_O t) (John Justen), Friday, 28 November 2008 17:40 (fifteen years ago) link

I will draft something!

I have finally arrived back home after a lovely lazy morning of dozing and brunch. Going to ignore responsibilities today I think bc I don't want to ruin this feeling!

jordans-menendi (tehresa), Friday, 28 November 2008 19:06 (fifteen years ago) link

for those who envy my chipper general vibe, if it helps i am at work today ;_;

t (o_O t) (John Justen), Friday, 28 November 2008 19:10 (fifteen years ago) link

haha

ps DC is still awesome

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Friday, 28 November 2008 19:23 (fifteen years ago) link

At work today too! But luckily it's always one of the quietest days of the year, so. (It's just me and a student staffer covering the whole library, pretty much.)

Ned Raggett, Friday, 28 November 2008 21:59 (fifteen years ago) link

Had another indescribably awesome day, with family and friends, and also one billion other Disney tourists.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 29 November 2008 01:59 (fifteen years ago) link

Why aren't any of you here yet to hang out with me? ;_;

Sara R-C, Saturday, 29 November 2008 01:59 (fifteen years ago) link

p.s. to John - this morning I was really tired and was speculating on whether my New Year's Resolution should be to watch scarier movies. A. does not think this idea is a good one.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 29 November 2008 02:00 (fifteen years ago) link

hung over. work. lots of moms buying guitars, asking question. ooof.

t (o_O t) (John Justen), Saturday, 29 November 2008 18:24 (fifteen years ago) link

i think it took my ears at least 24hrs to recover after boris. good luck!

very quotatious (tehresa), Saturday, 29 November 2008 18:24 (fifteen years ago) link

i think i am on a mission to get everyone in the world who is cool to listen to Zebulon Pike, they are far too good to stay locals-only.

also "Clouds" from boston? played, and i enjoyed them but also found them confusing. are you stoner rock or southie hardcore or?

t (o_O t) (John Justen), Saturday, 29 November 2008 18:32 (fifteen years ago) link

drunkenly bought a ton of merch also o_O

I don't know if I qualify as cool or not, but will give it a try, if only to assist your efforts, John.

Also: I'M HOME!!! Yay. :)

Sara R-C, Sunday, 30 November 2008 22:15 (fifteen years ago) link

happy thanksgiving everyone! i am in chicago, had a very hectic thanksgiving: off the plane, straight to jordan's parents' house with all the family and family friends. and it was not vegetarian afterall - i got to eat turkey for the first time and it was FUCKIN A+++ would eat again!

also: jordan's parents got me a SIGNED mary ellen mark photography book for my birthday!! and his mum made me this really gorgeous beaded necklace. i am feeling rather spoiled. she also hemmed my pants.

Whoa, awesome first American Thanksgiving, RR!

:)

Sara R-C, Monday, 1 December 2008 01:55 (fifteen years ago) link

Were you veggie before the turkey?

La Push It (Susan), Monday, 1 December 2008 13:43 (fifteen years ago) link

i am not ready to go back to school/work! eeeek! (though my bank acct sure is!)

very quotatious (tehresa), Monday, 1 December 2008 14:56 (fifteen years ago) link

I thought J was veggie, RR wasn't.

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Monday, 1 December 2008 15:17 (fifteen years ago) link

yes i believe rr is carnivorous and j is vegan.

very quotatious (tehresa), Monday, 1 December 2008 15:18 (fifteen years ago) link

do they not have turkeys in new zealand?

very quotatious (tehresa), Monday, 1 December 2008 15:18 (fifteen years ago) link

What a sad thought! ;_;

Sara R-C, Monday, 1 December 2008 15:19 (fifteen years ago) link

Turkeys are native to this part of the world. Do they even have them in Europe?

I'm glad you a good holiday RR!

La Push It (Susan), Monday, 1 December 2008 15:24 (fifteen years ago) link

Turkeys are so delicious that they should be everywhere by now. Lazy turkeys.

Sara R-C, Monday, 1 December 2008 15:32 (fifteen years ago) link

I made stuffing for the Thanksgiving dinner I was invited to and just finished the last of it. Active ingredients: pancetta, mushrooms, wild rice and Italian sausage.

Meat ROFL (suzy), Monday, 1 December 2008 16:51 (fifteen years ago) link

no, i'm not vegan, altho i've been mostly vegetarian sinced i moved to the US. but turkey isn't really eaten in nz. you can get them, but it's not very common and it's not a traditional holiday roast. i think this one was organic/freerange which is why it tasted so good.

omg, today jordan told me he had a surprise for me... i looked out the window and EVERYTHING is blanketed with snow! i've seen anything like it before! (i've seen snow on a mountain a couple of times but never in someone's backyard)

also, for sara: we were talking about weather/places to live and jordan said he'd love to live in minnesota... so maybe one day we'll be neighbours!

i don't really like sausage, but italian sausage is divine.

suzy, your stuffing sounds awesome!

RR, plz to move in next door to me. :) ps we can hook you guys up on the snow thing - often to the point of "OMG it's freaking April, how can it snow again?!..."

Sara R-C, Monday, 1 December 2008 17:55 (fifteen years ago) link

Snow? What is that? there's starting to be a bite in the air though. I just went out for lunch w/out my coat and regretted it.

I made cornbread dressing this weekend. Simple but so holiday-delicious.

La Push It (Susan), Monday, 1 December 2008 18:57 (fifteen years ago) link

My stuffing will give you a heart attack two completely different ways.
