An aside from those seeking to lower the likelihood: coronaries are common during and after fatty meals, and the mechanisms involved (postprandial lipemia & endotoxemia, endothelial inflammation, matrix metalloproteinase expression, plaque rupture, downstream thrombosis) are becoming clear 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. People can live with stable plaques, but inflaming their caps every meal is a bad idea.
