At first you should dress as a 70's badass hustler and really establish yr character in detail for authenticity by calling everyone "clyde" or "jackson" or something but in the middle of the party you should totally forget the pretext and context of the situation and sit around with a bunch of other dudes and deconstruct various pop culture tropes in an interupterry and aruementative fashion , gradually loosing the various costume elements which signified pastiche and so now you're just you being who you were anyway and doing what you were going to be doing anyhow before you went through all the trouble to pretend you were going to be doing something else. As the party winds down remember its ostensible generic nature and put yr costume back on and do something violent to someone.
