I'd invite him to come to class, but sadly our prof did specify that we could not have booze until after class was over. I just don't think FB would feel comfortable in that situation.

FESS UP, WHAT SHOW ARE YOU SEEING, IRISH?

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 18 November 2008 07:15 (fifteen years ago) link

(I'm asking on Dan's behalf, and will check back tomorrow a.m. after I sleep peacefully for the first time in months...

good night, all.)

another hint would be that ned will have the same reaction. and it isnt the cure. and i fear that the first avenue nightclub will not be strong enough to withstand the power of their mighty fog machines.

CHARMING LMAO (John Justen), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 07:21 (fifteen years ago) link

Congrats Sara! Not to say I told you so, but I told you so.

You are smarter than all this testing.

Alison (aimurchie), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 07:41 (fifteen years ago) link

Yay Sara!

Remy, I'm sorry. It could be like someone else said that it was too much too soon for her. So take heart that it could change again in the future. But I do understand your feelings. I would be bummed to.

Bella Swan Song (Susan), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 13:56 (fifteen years ago) link

congrats sara!!! halfway done WOOOH!

;n_n; (tehresa), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 14:20 (fifteen years ago) link

Okay, I am absolutely freezing. I'd like to put on my gloves but that would make typing impossible. Really need to knit another Fetching. . .

Bella Swan Song (Susan), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 14:52 (fifteen years ago) link

I have a good fingerless pattern, although I never actually finished the second glove.

Ed, Tuesday, 18 November 2008 14:59 (fifteen years ago) link

another hint would be that ned will have the same reaction

Hahah, I know exactly who it is now. But I gotta admit I'm just not thrilled by the idea of a show of theirs much now. (Though I was almost going to do a preview of it for the OC Weekly.)

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 18 November 2008 15:00 (fifteen years ago) link

SPILL IT

;n_n; (tehresa), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 15:01 (fifteen years ago) link

okay I was going to guess SISTERS OF MERCY but the website sez they're playing tonight

Are you sure you know what night yr show is?

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 15:11 (fifteen years ago) link

xxpost. . .ah, the second sock syndrome.

I've done one Fetching but should probably try a different fingerless glove pattern to avoid boredom.

Typing with gloves on is actually working out well.

Bella Swan Song (Susan), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 15:11 (fifteen years ago) link

I did them in cheap yarn because I thought I would fuck up but failed to do so so now I am reluctant to finish but to start a new pair nice nice yarn.

That's the exact color I did the Fetching in. Debbie Bliss's Cashmerino Aran. One of my most favorite yarns.

Bella Swan Song (Susan), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 15:22 (fifteen years ago) link

God I love how double pointed needles look like some kind of insane medieval torture device.

Thanks for the support, guys. I promise to bandage all your future wounds. <3 <3 <3

John still hasn't fessed up to what band he's seeing? Weird. btw, someone told me last night at class that they had been to First Avenue over the weekend and it was CLEAN and even had a Corian countertop somewhere. I am having trouble processing this idea.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 18 November 2008 16:43 (fifteen years ago) link

I had french fries for lunch. I feel so dirty now.

Bella Swan Song (Susan), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 18:12 (fifteen years ago) link

dan is right and this sisters of mercy tour date thing is troublesome. investigating...

further review of the current incarnation seems to push me pretty heavily towards the lol or maybe ._. reacton, maybe the best i can hope for (if i go, this may be a bad night for it) is o_O and ;_;

CHARMING LMAO (John Justen), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 19:06 (fifteen years ago) link

I refuse to allow anything to sully the memory of the '91 tour.

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 19:10 (fifteen years ago) link

French fries!

John must go and offer a full report. Really, I insist.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 18 November 2008 19:33 (fifteen years ago) link

FB's latest Twitter post suggests that he's going despite having what sounds like some kind of horrible respiratory infection. John please go and make sure he survives the night.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 18 November 2008 20:26 (fifteen years ago) link

ha still so not on Twitter

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Tuesday, 18 November 2008 20:36 (fifteen years ago) link

I liked Twitter better when it had an "Election" page with all kinds of random election-related posts from all over the place. Now I apparently just use to to concern troll about FB's health.

Okay, is this unintentionally disturbing/hilarious, or is it just me (and Andrew Sullivan, apparently, on whose blog I found this):

Not so far as I can tell...

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 19 November 2008 05:08 (fifteen years ago) link

does it come with accompanying white hood?

;n_n; (tehresa), Wednesday, 19 November 2008 05:09 (fifteen years ago) link

There appears to be no mention of that, but I'm sure that is so cheap that they just figure people can fashion their own out of bedsheets or old pajama bottoms.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 19 November 2008 06:10 (fifteen years ago) link

Sunny, what are you having to do that late at night?

Bella Swan Song (Susan), Wednesday, 19 November 2008 13:41 (fifteen years ago) link

Bella Swan Song (Susan), Wednesday, 19 November 2008 14:59 (fifteen years ago) link

susan, we have a crazy project coming up where we'll be working a minimum of 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. we should have started by now but the team that needs to give us the code that we need to start testing is running tragically behind. Its not their fault. Its just a ridiculously tight deadline. One woman I was teleconferencing with at midnight last night told me she had arrived at work at 5am that day and was leaving at 1am.
Anyway, were trying to help them out to take some pressure off them and also we figure the longer their time line ends up being, the shorter ours will be and we need all the time we can get.

a country packed with ponies (sunny successor), Wednesday, 19 November 2008 15:03 (fifteen years ago) link

then when we finish we'll all get laid off! weeeee!

a country packed with ponies (sunny successor), Wednesday, 19 November 2008 15:04 (fifteen years ago) link

good lord. . .

I hope you're getting paid some overtime or a bonus for this.

Bella Swan Song (Susan), Wednesday, 19 November 2008 15:04 (fifteen years ago) link

its not so bad. the trickiest part is working in the kids routine at night. i swear the second her butt hit the bath water last night my phone started ringing.

a country packed with ponies (sunny successor), Wednesday, 19 November 2008 15:19 (fifteen years ago) link

Sunny, your job sounds like the craziest job ever!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 19 November 2008 16:48 (fifteen years ago) link

I just reread The Subtle Knife (again, who knows how many times now). I'm sitting there eating my lunch in public trying so hard not to cry when Lee Scoresby died. I did but tried to staunch the tears before people saw me and thought I was weirdo.

Now I feel sad and still want to cry. Or just keep reading.

Stupid work.
