FB doesn't have a car... so... maybe not?

Sara R-C, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:20 (fifteen years ago) link

i went carless for about 10 years, FB is still making it happen as well. it kind of depends where you live and where you work. mostly busses, some light rail with more to come. assuming you are a city dweller, probably wouldnt be so bad.

fairly cheap to live here, dont know how it compares to seattle $$$wise.

also, im batman

BLACK BEYONCE, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:22 (fifteen years ago) link

BATMANG!!!!!!1

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:23 (fifteen years ago) link

See, John is even offering you extra protection from the dangers of Gotham if you come here. You can't beat that with a stick.

Sara R-C, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:26 (fifteen years ago) link

Okay, I'm off for the afternoon; taking the kids to a friend's farm.

<3 to you all!

Sara R-C, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:27 (fifteen years ago) link

I would want to beat dangers with a stick.

As a carless personage too, I can aver that Seattle and the Bay Area are both mighty fine for living without an auto. Portland too. LA, not so much.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:30 (fifteen years ago) link

I hear Portland is a true friend to the cyclist. That's why I want to move there.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:33 (fifteen years ago) link

not to be all MY CITY IS TEH AWESOMENESS, but bike culture in MPLS/STPL is pretty strong as well, the mpls greenway is badass.

of course, in january, not so much

BLACK BEYONCE, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:36 (fifteen years ago) link

bay area is like $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ though right?

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:42 (fifteen years ago) link

Definitely depends where you are at in it. Ruby, being wise, choose a boyfriend who lived in a less expensive part, f'r instance.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:46 (fifteen years ago) link

not paying rent is an astute economy.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:49 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah.. .still need one of those sugar daddy things.

Hi guys, I'm back from Paris! Please read this post here if you're interested in my big bike ride!

Mark C, Monday, 21 July 2008 21:51 (fifteen years ago) link

I read it and thought it was gr8!

(certainly puts my London-Brighton ride in the shade)

Upt0eleven, Monday, 21 July 2008 21:58 (fifteen years ago) link

not that it was ever anywhere else.

so are you saddle sore?

Upt0eleven, Monday, 21 July 2008 22:00 (fifteen years ago) link

Welcome back! I will try to check it out when I'm not starving...

DAN - it looks like we probably have babysitting for whenever we want it on the 28th, so if your State Fair plans are still on, A. and I would love to hang with you all...

Sara R-C, Monday, 21 July 2008 23:27 (fifteen years ago) link

starting to think i should have kept with the law stuff cause i gettin all sorts of headhunting going on from facebook for paralegaling.

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 00:12 (fifteen years ago) link

mark, your ride sounds amazing!!!

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 00:13 (fifteen years ago) link

Thanks - it really was! It was fantastic to realise I could actually do it, and do it justice. On the first night I'd started to have knee twinges and had got a pretty sore back and I was so scared they'd ruin the rest of the trip, but both got better and the who French leg of the ride was done pretty much in perfect health. Which includes a complete lack of saddle sores, Nick :) (though my mate who foolishly wore pants under his lycra got some extremely painful crotchal blistering, hehe)

Mark C, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 09:37 (fifteen years ago) link

pls to never allow me to read those two words together ever ever ever again.

Upt0eleven, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 10:02 (fifteen years ago) link

Did you have lycra underskunders under lycra or just one layer of lycra?

Ed, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 11:01 (fifteen years ago) link

estela, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 13:27 (fifteen years ago) link

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 14:26 (fifteen years ago) link

dude is kind of crazy and i'm afraid he's gonna completely freak.

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 14:26 (fifteen years ago) link

which is yet another reason not to work for him...

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 14:26 (fifteen years ago) link

I was about to say. Build up your courage and have done with it.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 14:36 (fifteen years ago) link

since i got here he was on the phone for 20 min and now has been out 20 min 'moving his car'.

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 14:43 (fifteen years ago) link

Wow, that IS crazy. On the other hand, I kind of want to know what he's going to do next...

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 16:36 (fifteen years ago) link

he has been on the phone essentially the entire time since he got back from car moving. wtf.

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 16:38 (fifteen years ago) link

email him

lxy, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 16:44 (fifteen years ago) link

then you are free to move to seawa this afternoon

lxy, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 16:45 (fifteen years ago) link

haha i was thinking of that. he'd probably read the email while on the phone - sooner than i can actually talk to him!

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 16:45 (fifteen years ago) link

omg i just had a really tense moment w/ him WHILE he was on the phone w/ someone! argh get me out!!! WHY IS HE STILL ON PHONE!?

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 17:05 (fifteen years ago) link

Weird.

Maybe you should make an "I AM QUITTING" poster.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 17:06 (fifteen years ago) link

I've been biking everywhere this summer. It's great. I've noticed more and more bikes every year.

The greenway is expanding.

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 17:16 (fifteen years ago) link

HI DERE, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 18:26 (fifteen years ago) link

so i come back from work and he is not here. as i am taking tomorrow off (for an interview!) i may just email him if this does not get covered by 5pm. i know that's unprofessional, but so is he, and i don't want to wait any longer.

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 19:30 (fifteen years ago) link

*come back from lunch lol

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 19:31 (fifteen years ago) link

Can you not just keep the job until you hear back from the interview?

HI DERE, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 19:52 (fifteen years ago) link

i could... but i just don't want to be here at ALL. and want out asap.

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 20:00 (fifteen years ago) link

Show was tight. The band was hard and fast and the music was really well-composed. Basically a string of two-minute epic songs strung together like a train. I don't know how much time I'd sit around listening to it, as far as personal tastes go, but I was very happy with the show.

Private Dancer had a really great set, too. They opened.

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 20:01 (fifteen years ago) link

text him

lxy, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 20:20 (fifteen years ago) link

You could try sky-writing.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 22 July 2008 20:27 (fifteen years ago) link
