This is another case in which maybe I wouldn't be interested at all if it weren't Chinese; or maybe I just need Asian female vocalists in my symphonic prog? Anyway, this band sounds pretty good to me:

I saw gum bleed, a beijing punk band, a few weeks ago. they were pretty good although the vocalist was on some hatebreed growling shit. but it was a fun time.

they have an awesome shirt where it's a picture of a chinese soldier on a horse but the dude's got a mohawk. I'll try to wear the shirt in my next wdyll

Okay, this seems the most appropriate of several very shorts China Music threads on ILX.

Dou Wei is indeed incredible. Well worth exploring.

Nova Heart are new and sound very promising with their stripped down italo-esque sound.

Anyway, below: a compilation I put together for some visitors arriving soon, to get them - you know - schooled (somewhat)

the last two tracks are HK and Taiwan artists respectively. Bang Bang is (I think) late 60s or early 70s so the title of the comp. doesn't apply there. And Yu Huan Lee is not really underground. Anyway I like both enough to have included.,

Taiwanese music is okay for this thread, yeah? I discovered 大嘴巴 (Da Mouth) and have been listening to 流感 pretty much nonstop all week. Admitting this will probably encourage abuse but whatever, it's ace.

btw I am utterly utterly open to all similar Taiwanese/Chinese electro/hip hop; also Cantopop/K-pop/J-pop to a lesser extent, but Mandopop doubles as a study guide for me so

Thanks for that link. I knocked out some Jay Chou the other day, was better than I was expecting.
