You know, the big stumbling block for me with John being Batman is that I've seen the cars he drives.

ROLLING "I'M BATMANG/BATMAN" THREAD

BLACK BEYONCE, Monday, 21 July 2008 04:15 (fifteen years ago) link

Sara- I went to see WALL-E today. By myself. I loved it! I was the only adult sans kids.

aimurchie, Monday, 21 July 2008 06:41 (fifteen years ago) link

Afternoon all. How are we today?

hyggeligt, Monday, 21 July 2008 14:02 (fifteen years ago) link

HI DERE, Monday, 21 July 2008 14:13 (fifteen years ago) link

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 14:17 (fifteen years ago) link

Rubyredd, Monday, 21 July 2008 15:44 (fifteen years ago) link

Go out and raise a ruckus.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 21 July 2008 15:45 (fifteen years ago) link

argh now a/c is off bc cleaning lady is vacuuming and apparently you can't have both on at the same time. :(

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 15:48 (fifteen years ago) link

that would be fun but i don't want to do it on my own :(

i had a FANTASTIC weekend: went to exhibition opening at gallery 1988 in sf on friday, got to meet joe vaux!!!!! and travis louie!!!!! love sf - so freakin beautiful. also rode the subway for the first time in my life.

saturday: went to farmers' market down the road - OMG so freakin awesome!! i love oakland, it's nothing like anyone told me (apart from jordan). went back to sf, bought not-totally-dorky helmet to wear on my almost-mine bike, scouted book stores, watched blades of glory (which i thought was actually incredibly funny).

sunday: hung out in berkeley, more bookstoring, ate my first vege burger at smart alec's... actually really tasty.

Rubyredd, Monday, 21 July 2008 15:53 (fifteen years ago) link

RR, that all sounds so awesome. I love the Bay Area. Have you gone into a See's Candies yet? (mmmmmmm See's Candies...)

tehresa - I hope the vaccuuming/no a.c. hell ends soon.

xp Glad you liked Wall-E, airmurchie! I enjoyed it, too.

Sara R-C, Monday, 21 July 2008 16:17 (fifteen years ago) link

Dear Dan, I am sorry to hear about your lack of a weekend. You need a different job for sure. P.S. I read the first 4 pages of Uncle Tom's Cabin and it is making me nauseous. I'll continue, but only because I told you I would do it!

Sara R-C, Monday, 21 July 2008 16:18 (fifteen years ago) link

a/c is back but boss isn't.

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 16:21 (fifteen years ago) link

dear lxy jerg and lingbert,

i have reaffirmed my fondness for all of you as of this morning. thank you for sups last night.

remy bean, Monday, 21 July 2008 16:33 (fifteen years ago) link

haha Sara, four pages into UTC I turned to J031 and said "okay now I want to kill white people"

Did I tell you guys that there was a big fight next door to my house last week? Apparently someone got stabbed (no homocide).

HI DERE, Monday, 21 July 2008 16:38 (fifteen years ago) link

<3 to remy bean: it was a treat to have you and lb over and what a great porch night, huh?

xox
yer pal,

question: should i start a seattle vs. minneapolis thread in which residents of both cities convince me why i should move there? i need to start planning a move i think. it won't happen for a year or so, but maybe i should start thinking?

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 16:42 (fifteen years ago) link

also other cities. maybe it should be like "WHERE SHOULD I MOVE?" with a list of criteria

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 16:49 (fifteen years ago) link

MPLS

because, you know, interesting weather.

xp to Dan - this reminds me of how our bookclub wound up with all kinds of rules. "No books with dead babies in them!" I'm not sure what rule this would be leading to, however. "No books that have nauseating racism?"

Also glad that you weren't stabbed. Someone was stabbed in the house next door? Maybe you should move to MPLS, too. IT'S THE THING TO DO

Sara R-C, Monday, 21 July 2008 16:50 (fifteen years ago) link

NO, TZA, COME TO THE WEST COAST!!

Rubyredd, Monday, 21 July 2008 16:51 (fifteen years ago) link

WALKER CTR is A+++++

i can not afford san francisco i think, though i would not mind working for sf opera.

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 16:53 (fifteen years ago) link

also, here is the bike i'm getting: http://www.trekbikes.com/women/wsd_products/bikes/2008/bike_path/72fxwsd/

i'm kind of excited, and simultaneously totally scared about this bike riding thing.

Rubyredd, Monday, 21 July 2008 16:53 (fifteen years ago) link

oohi am seriously in need of a bike.

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 16:55 (fifteen years ago) link

I am seriously in need of an interview suit.

HI DERE, Monday, 21 July 2008 17:17 (fifteen years ago) link

Tza -- west coast. The way to go.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 21 July 2008 17:48 (fifteen years ago) link

I am seriously in need of another part time job.
I want to do something simple that allows me to read/think great thoughts, OR I want to be surrounded by witty people. Receptionist or restaurant?

We just bought a new car - a Honda Fit!

aimurchie, Monday, 21 July 2008 17:57 (fifteen years ago) link

Those Fits are kind of cute.

I just need to get back to school so that I have regular interaction with other adults.

Also, MPLS has more interesting weather than the West Coast. Just sayin'!

Sara R-C, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:01 (fifteen years ago) link

Do Fits go in spurts?

HI DERE, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:14 (fifteen years ago) link

mpls prolly more affordable?

omg boss back now and want to put gun in mouth asap.

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:15 (fifteen years ago) link

I love the Twin Cities area, but can't lie: it does get unreasonably cold here in the winter. But if you stay here, you can feel TUFF!

Sorry about the job woes...

Sara R-C, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:18 (fifteen years ago) link

i DID put in 6 rochester winters, so maybe i could handle it?

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:19 (fifteen years ago) link

do you need a car there?

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:19 (fifteen years ago) link

mpls ROOLS w coast DROOLS

BLACK BEYONCE, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:19 (fifteen years ago) link

FB doesn't have a car... so... maybe not?

Sara R-C, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:20 (fifteen years ago) link

i went carless for about 10 years, FB is still making it happen as well. it kind of depends where you live and where you work. mostly busses, some light rail with more to come. assuming you are a city dweller, probably wouldnt be so bad.

fairly cheap to live here, dont know how it compares to seattle $$$wise.

also, im batman

BLACK BEYONCE, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:22 (fifteen years ago) link

BATMANG!!!!!!1

tehresa, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:23 (fifteen years ago) link

See, John is even offering you extra protection from the dangers of Gotham if you come here. You can't beat that with a stick.

Sara R-C, Monday, 21 July 2008 18:26 (fifteen years ago) link

Okay, I'm off for the afternoon; taking the kids to a friend's farm.

<3 to you all!
