zvookster, Sunday, 8 August 2010 04:21 (thirteen years ago) link

finally got this playlist completed (minus "empire state of mind" -- not that i hate it, but too soon) and i refuse to listen to anything else for the next few days

J0rdan S., Sunday, 8 August 2010 05:05 (thirteen years ago) link

would it be controversial to politely ask for an upload of that? i was thinking of doing the same thing but that's a lot of work if it's not necessary. i know this is MAJOR LABEL MUSIC but uh

werner herzomg (samosa gibreel), Sunday, 8 August 2010 05:12 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah if you gimme a little bit to zip all the stuff and upload it etc

J0rdan S., Sunday, 8 August 2010 05:27 (thirteen years ago) link

thanks a lot :)

werner herzomg (samosa gibreel), Sunday, 8 August 2010 05:30 (thirteen years ago) link

there will be 47 songs -- the ones missing are "flashing lights" & "good life" because when i went to add them to the playlist i realized that i didn't have 'graduation' on my computer so this was sort of like a little reminder to do it -- not to mention that i don't really need to hear those two songs right now

also "empire state of mind"

J0rdan S., Sunday, 8 August 2010 05:32 (thirteen years ago) link

also there's a slight chance that i copped a few of them off itunes before i went on my filestube binge last night to fill out the playlist, in which case you'll have to track down those few yourself (filestube will work)

J0rdan S., Sunday, 8 August 2010 05:37 (thirteen years ago) link

Was Luv U Better actually good? I can't remember it at all (not a good sign.)

a hoy hoy, Sunday, 8 August 2010 06:37 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah it's amazing

J0rdan S., Sunday, 8 August 2010 06:45 (thirteen years ago) link

i should mention great list otherwise!

blap...tremendo (deej), Sunday, 8 August 2010 21:10 (thirteen years ago) link

for some reason monica ft. busta rhymes - so gone (remix) feels like it should be on here

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Sunday, 8 August 2010 21:18 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah this list is amazing; leaning "best of me" but it is v difficult to choose

horseshoe, Sunday, 8 August 2010 22:08 (thirteen years ago) link

right after i posted that i looked at the list again and realized i'm a liar bc "i'm a flirt" is officially my favorite song in the world?

horseshoe, Sunday, 8 August 2010 22:12 (thirteen years ago) link

i have never been able to love "addicted" btw because i find lata mangeshkar's voice really annoying. rakim's verse is obvs great though.

horseshoe, Sunday, 8 August 2010 22:13 (thirteen years ago) link

the vague callback to exoticism on 'paid in full' is what gives that so much resonance i think

blap...tremendo (deej), Sunday, 8 August 2010 22:22 (thirteen years ago) link

although obv if u were familiar with mangeshkar i suppose you might have a diff take!

it is! it's totally brilliant; i just feel like i'm tolerating the song until that part, though. i realize this is sb-worthy because mangeshkar prob has one of the world's most popular voices

horseshoe, Sunday, 8 August 2010 22:25 (thirteen years ago) link

or challopsy of me or whatever

horseshoe, Sunday, 8 August 2010 22:28 (thirteen years ago) link

that basehead song is magnificent

Michael B, Monday, 9 August 2010 00:23 (thirteen years ago) link

Michael B, Monday, 9 August 2010 00:24 (thirteen years ago) link

i wish i could find marcello carlins review of that album... which is also magnificent

Michael B, Monday, 9 August 2010 00:24 (thirteen years ago) link

i'm a flirt

yeah considering how long it ended up being i shoulda tried to get paid for it somewhere but i have no idea who wants to run end-of-decade lists 8 months after everyone else's. this is just part one of a planned SIX PART SERIES if anyone's interested, though.

once the poll ends i'll post my short list of things i would've had in there

J0rdan S., Monday, 9 August 2010 05:35 (thirteen years ago) link

3k's verse on "green light" is so awesome -- he's totally energized

J0rdan S., Monday, 9 August 2010 05:36 (thirteen years ago) link

hop out the suicides lookin so cobain

J0rdan S., Monday, 9 August 2010 05:47 (thirteen years ago) link

i'd never heard this shade sheist joint before -- it's great of course -- was it produced by quik?

J0rdan S., Monday, 9 August 2010 05:57 (thirteen years ago) link

i always thought it was cute that wayne shouted out chris brown on the outro of "you" -- it's like he didn't want him to think that he was cheating with lloyd

J0rdan S., Monday, 9 August 2010 05:59 (thirteen years ago) link

i think styles p found the closest thing to a rhyme for "orange" with "garbage" -- or at least the way he says it

J0rdan S., Monday, 9 August 2010 06:18 (thirteen years ago) link

yes i like that couplet

horseshoe, Monday, 9 August 2010 06:20 (thirteen years ago) link

i had never heard "where i wanna be," nor had i heard "back like that." they are both great!

horseshoe, Monday, 9 August 2010 06:21 (thirteen years ago) link

young gunz say some creepy shit in this song

J0rdan S., Monday, 9 August 2010 06:23 (thirteen years ago) link

songs on this list that talk about see through panties: 2

J0rdan S., Monday, 9 August 2010 06:23 (thirteen years ago) link

isnt the song called 'addictive'?

max, Monday, 9 August 2010 06:31 (thirteen years ago) link

if im voting 'favorite' than yeah that but in terms of 'best rap/r&b crossover'... i dunno man that doesnt feel like a crossover, rakim owns that track so hard he makes all of truth hurts verses sound like an extended intro

max, Monday, 9 August 2010 06:32 (thirteen years ago) link

there is a part in "okay" that sounds just like my alarm clock -- i'm having like a reverse pavlovian reaction

J0rdan S., Monday, 9 August 2010 06:39 (thirteen years ago) link

ludacris, balance and rotate all tires

J0rdan S., Monday, 9 August 2010 06:44 (thirteen years ago) link

is there a single mp3 that combines the luda, trina AND jay-z verses of "one minute man"? if so, can someone post it?

J0rdan S., Monday, 9 August 2010 06:44 (thirteen years ago) link

i have one! can i admit i don't know how to post it?

horseshoe, Monday, 9 August 2010 06:45 (thirteen years ago) link

yes! it's okay

here's what you do -- go to zshare.com and upload it there
