you know, i think it's really cool that nicki is the first openly queer rap star and even if i don't always like her shit, i am basically rooting for her because of this. i mean, of course the first openly queer rap star is a bisexual woman, but still, REALLY COOL.

the entirety of her "lil freak" verse is spitting game to a female and she talks about signing boobs more than any popular artist since '80s hair metal. but yeah i wouldn't be one bit surprised if it's just a public image thing as part of her sex appeal, i'm just saying that when people talked about Remy Ma or Latifah of MC Lyte being possibly gay it tended to be in a "EW SHE A DYKE" way.

i think minaj acknowledging and repping for her gay fanbase is more cause for applause than her bisexuality, which i don't even know if she's talked about in detail beyond the usual female celebrity "i find women attractive too" stuff - like i have no idea if she's being a lipstick lesbian (no problem w/that if she is) or if she actually identifies as bisexual

i love nicki's verse on the super-generic new trey songz single, really emphasises the ventriloquist nature of her schtick - she keeps spinning out into one of her weird voices, leading you over there, and then every time suddenly snaps back into a really tight flow over here. plus about a quarter of it seems to be nicki shouting "FUCK HER! FUCK HER! FUCK HER!"

get the feeling lately watching her interviews that minaj had a gameplan and a vision once but now after the soul-destroying 'massive attack' fiasco and 'your love' becoming a smash despite her being embarrassed by how rubbish it is a screw loosened somewhere along the way and now she just talks b.s in an ab-fab voice all day cos why not
