Sara R-C, Friday, 18 July 2008 01:51 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah booze. man. i was home doing some other work (not for work) tonight. am missing booze night. but i don't think i'd make it out of bed for work tomorrow if i went out tonight anyway. ugh.

tehresa, Friday, 18 July 2008 01:51 (fifteen years ago) link

i miss booze so much right now but no drinking until after the life insurance physical for me (I am making up for this by not eating, yay)

HI DERE, Friday, 18 July 2008 01:52 (fifteen years ago) link

I am supposed to be doing laundry and walking on treadmill, but I'm procrastinating by checking out this THREADS thing on youtube (because I've never seen any of it or heard of it outside of ILX and I feel like I'm missing out)

Sara R-C, Friday, 18 July 2008 01:52 (fifteen years ago) link

however soon my wife will be able to murder me for $$$$$$$$$ so yay

xp: SARA HOW DID YOU MISS THREADS?????? I saw that when it came out!

HI DERE, Friday, 18 July 2008 01:52 (fifteen years ago) link

Then again my dad was kind of obsessed with "The Day After" so watching "Threads" was inevitable.

HI DERE, Friday, 18 July 2008 01:53 (fifteen years ago) link

Dan, is your physical, like, TOMORROW? Or what do you think they're going to do to you that would reveal how much you drink?

They always just ask me and I tell them and it's all good. I'm sure Dr. S will be amused to hear that nursing school has caused me to drink far more than before...

Sara R-C, Friday, 18 July 2008 01:53 (fifteen years ago) link

wait what is threads?

tehresa, Friday, 18 July 2008 01:54 (fifteen years ago) link

I have never seen THE DAY AFTER, either.

We were just talking about all the stuff that scared us when we were kids last night (piranhas, quicksand). The tv was ALWAYS on at my house, so I have no idea how I missed these things. I was freaked by the idea of nuclear war, though.

Sara R-C, Friday, 18 July 2008 01:54 (fifteen years ago) link

Dan, is your physical, like, TOMORROW? Or what do you think they're going to do to you that would reveal how much you drink?

Basically, they're doing blood work. I was told not to drink the night before but, given the way things have been going, I am liable to attempt to drink an entire case of beer sometime this weekend (lol while I am on-call). I am avoiding this by avoiding all alcohol altogether. (unfortunately I am, as a side-effect, also avoiding all food altogether; stress, it's what's for dinner)

HI DERE, Friday, 18 July 2008 01:56 (fifteen years ago) link

Well that makes sense. But I'm sorry you're so stressed that you can't eat. I hate it when that happens (seriously - that was me for most of May).

Sara R-C, Friday, 18 July 2008 01:58 (fifteen years ago) link

Okay, treadmill plus old Moonlighting episodes awaits. Maybe I will feel less murderous afterward.

<3 to you all, especially Dan and tehresa.

Also I'm sending good thoughts remy's way. AHEM

go to berkeley bowl!

remy bean, Friday, 18 July 2008 15:55 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah.... i can't go anywhere that's not within walking distance cuz i am afraid of public transport (haven't been on it yet). yes, i know, i am a big baby for not figuring it out on my own, but i have a weird phobia about it :/

Rubyredd, Friday, 18 July 2008 15:56 (fifteen years ago) link

we went to berkeley last night, to book-hunt and eat. jordan found me two first edition raymond carver collections. so happy!

Rubyredd, Friday, 18 July 2008 15:57 (fifteen years ago) link

RR, I'm not sure I could get on the BART by myself and I've been on it lots of times in the past. And I have no culture shock excuse, really!

Sara R-C, Friday, 18 July 2008 16:37 (fifteen years ago) link

MUNI is legitimately a little confusing, but I wouldn't be worried about BART - it is designed for overfed berkeley idiots.

remy bean, Friday, 18 July 2008 16:58 (fifteen years ago) link

that is little consolation, as i am generally a complete retard when it comes to a lot of things in daily life.

Rubyredd, Friday, 18 July 2008 17:00 (fifteen years ago) link

ooh ruby you gotta try spicy thai kettle chips!

guys... should i quit (after i get paid) tonight? i don't have another job yet but i am kind of miserable.

tehresa, Friday, 18 July 2008 17:09 (fifteen years ago) link

I would say it's preferable to leave once you have something else lined up but if you're anything like me (and you have my sympathies if you are) you'll need the motivation that accompanies unemployment to actively get you looking for something.

if you can afford it/think you'll find something pretty quickly I would say jump. you deserve not to be miserable.

Upt0eleven, Friday, 18 July 2008 17:19 (fifteen years ago) link

i am actively looking. nothing solid yet, but i also don't want to lead this guy on... because even if i don't have something immediately, i'll want to be out by mid-august, so it's good to give notice, right?

tehresa, Friday, 18 July 2008 17:23 (fifteen years ago) link

is your notice period a month? then yeah, now would probably be the time to hand it in. and best of luck to yez for the hunt.

my tow interviews this week came to nuffink. i can afford to be unemployed (without touching my savings) for another month.

Upt0eleven, Friday, 18 July 2008 17:29 (fifteen years ago) link

spicy thai kettle chips!

;_;

Rubyredd, Friday, 18 July 2008 17:44 (fifteen years ago) link

I just generally feel crabby and not up to herding the kids into doing what they should be doing this afternoon. Blah.

Sara R-C, Friday, 18 July 2008 18:12 (fifteen years ago) link

in order to really get you rocking out with the junk food, we really need to get you into the frozen foods aisle, RR

BLACK BEYONCE, Friday, 18 July 2008 18:48 (fifteen years ago) link

for example i am eating scrambled eggs and sausage prepackaged by way of aunt jemima and it is RAD

BLACK BEYONCE, Friday, 18 July 2008 18:49 (fifteen years ago) link

pretty sure these eggs have never touched an actual chicken, which may be the secret to their success

BLACK BEYONCE, Friday, 18 July 2008 18:50 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah i haven't really explored the frozen foods section yet, may have to do that this weekend.

Rubyredd, Friday, 18 July 2008 18:59 (fifteen years ago) link

are you actually a vegan, because a word of warning would be that here in america we can find a way to hide pig fat in just about anything

BLACK BEYONCE, Friday, 18 July 2008 19:01 (fifteen years ago) link

Looking forward to Pistols at Dawn.

Though I am once again in the proccess of getting un-fat, I am really starting not to give a shit.

I'd rather enjoy a good steak and some potatoes or a polish wiener with a fried egg, bacon, and some cheese on it.

FUCK YEAH

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Friday, 18 July 2008 19:05 (fifteen years ago) link

Actually, everything in America is made out of corn and sugar, and a lot of that sugar is corn syrup.

NO, FOR SERIOUS

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Friday, 18 July 2008 19:07 (fifteen years ago) link

and corn is often made out of pig fat WHAT IS YOUR POINT

BLACK BEYONCE, Friday, 18 July 2008 19:10 (fifteen years ago) link

Mmmmmmm corn syrup is a major ingredient in Special K Bars, which I think I have made about 1,000 pans of in the last year. LOVE THEM. I don't care what is in them.

Sara R-C, Friday, 18 July 2008 19:14 (fifteen years ago) link

The best stuff that is made out of pig fat is bacon.

1) bacon should replace parsley as a garnish
2) all meats should be wrapped in bacon, including bacon
3) there exists a vendor called BACON FRIED BACON and I am ashamed that I have failed to go every time I've seen them at outdoor events

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Friday, 18 July 2008 19:20 (fifteen years ago) link

i share your shame. the state fair will be divided between bacon fried bacon and scotch egg on a stick and drunk

BLACK BEYONCE, Friday, 18 July 2008 19:23 (fifteen years ago) link

wait

bacon fried bacon sounds like bacon fried HEAVEN
