Pretty good book detailing the whole Superferry fiasco from the author of Four Arguments For The Elimination Of Television
Something that I didn't know about any of this was the involvement of former Navy Secretary John Lehman. The ferry had little to do with taking people around the Hawaiian islands and everything to do with being a tech demo for a military cargo catamaran that can motor across the Pacific in advance of a conflict with the Chinese.
The unofficial Hawaii Superferry Blog is now sort of a booster for aluminum-hulled military transports taking time out to detail the Chinese equivalents.
Oh yeah, it stopped operating last month. Call it Conspiracy Ferry
