are you sure its mali and not Senegal? Could be Positive Black Soul.

Bisso Na Bisso from Congo via Paris are prety good as well. I like what i've heard by Sultana, a female Turkish MC, a snatch of one of her songs can be heard at www.meta4world.cdinfo/html

More recently I've been enjoying ojos de brujos a flamenco/hiphop group out of Barcelona. More as i think of them

people actually LIKE italian and german hip hop? i mean, in my book that stuff rates pretty high on the unintentional comedy scale, but...yeesh. for what it's worth, i don't really care for the streets record, either.

i think some of that francophone african stuff is kind of cool, though.

CAn't belive we haven't mentioned Saian Supa Crew. They're one of the best foreign language hiphop bands out there. Inventive beats and rhymes. Search: X Raisons.

Actually, if we're searching out Saian Supa Crew, the essential thing from them is there version of "The Unknown" by Mark B and Blade, which blows the original one so far out of the water it ain't even funny.

Dutch: Extince, Brainpower, Spookrijders, Osdorp Posse
You do mean DESTROY, right? Brainpower and Extince are just plain embarassing. Although it isn't really Hip Hop (but still has it in their mix) I would recommend Urban Dance Squad. The only worthwhile Belgian Hip Hop I can think of is Starflam.

Tystion, Tystion... da ni no...

Urban Dance Squad

Aargh...they were abysmal. Spawned a whole generation of terrible, terrible rock/rap combos (I'm still trying to cope with the very existence of Rage Agaisnt The Machine). Though I did see Rude Boy at a Motorhead gig recently, I guess he's not all evil.

I'll take UDS over Rage any day of the goddamn week. And I think Rage found their own niche on their own (because nobody else wanted it).

Finding Skriptonit's Stil oddly compelling when it gets going.

I don't hate Yung Trappa either, though i do think if you're going to call yourself Yung Trappa you probably need to have a look stronger than '15-year old Ed Byrne'.

Rap Monster (Korea) is legit good, though.

Keith Ape (also Korea) is getting more attention in the US.

I'm quite fond of Schwesta Ewa, Polish sex-worker turned German-language rapper.
