it's weird like, he comes off as someone who has been in the business since he was 11 or something and has been coached incessantly on how to give interviews & never say anything especially of meaning, just giving constant praise to fans and being gregarious in a forced & pretty boring way -- but maybe that's just how he is?

Yeah tbh that whole "what does german mean?" thing was unfair - in the context of how and what they asked him I'dve been just as confused. He meant it like "whats german?" as a euphemism, I'm sure.
