i also have sleep paralysis sometimes, like last time it happened i thought someone was shaking my bed, getting into my bed, and breathing on my neck and i couldn't turn around and prove that it wasn't happening. i didn't panic though because i knew it was not possible and it had happened before.

oh yeah the other day i dreamt that an irl friend i have not seen in a few months lived on the 6th floor of an apt building and i kept breaking into his apt during the day and stealing books from him, reading them, and returning them secretly on another day. it was weird, i could have just asked to borrow his books.

I dreamt that I met Raoul Wallenberg in a mental hospital, but he was minimally conscious and apparently dying of radiation poisoning(?). He wore a threadbare grey sportcoat with a Star of David on the breast; his nurse said he hadn't changed his clothes in sixty years because his skin was extremely sensitive to sunlight. I took two cellphone photos of Raoul and promptly left because my press pass only allowed me to stay there for 15 minutes. On the way out, a guard made me delete one of the photos, claiming it "violated the great man's dignity." He didn't notice the other one.

I dreamt that I was dating a woman, and went back to her apartment for the first time. It turned out that she had a dog, which I didn't know about. IRL I'm allergic to dogs. Anyway, during the dream this dog, which was a bulldog to start with, transmogrified into a bear cub. That may sound cute, but I knew in the dream that the moment this woman's back was turned, this dog/bear was going to try and bite my face off. And that's not all. It hadn't been neutered, at least not properly, and it kept treading on it's scrotum until it was this huge flap of skin that the dog/bear kept tripping over. I decided that I couldn't possibly date this woman, so I told her that I was dumping her, on the basis of her ownership of this psychotic chimera. Then I trapped the beast by shutting it's scrotum flap in a door, in order to ensure my escape.

Also in the dream, immediately before I dumped the woman (who is completely fictitious), we had sex. So I'm dumping her as I'm putting my clothes back on. And at the same time, about six of her friends walk into the apartment and hear me dumping her while I'm buttoning up my shirt, and the woman herself looks so pissed off. I mean, take the most pissed off looking picture of Ariane, and it was worse than that.

i had a dream about being in a locker room (?) and there were lots of tiny baby rats running around so i went to buy some traps for them and put them in the locker room. why do i have so many dreams about rats and mice?

i dreamt i was sitting in class and staring out the window when i saw people gathering around across the street in front of a convenience store. a guy was leading a cattle. there were a few african guys and they were going to have what i thought of in my dream as a muslim cattle slaughtering ceremony. one guy held the lead and another guy sliced the cattle's head off with a machete. a third guy then stabbed a sword into the headless cattle's neck. everyone in my class ran outside and was like TIME FOR BARBECUE YAY and the african guys were like oh no sorry, the barbecue will be tomorrow. please come back then.

i think i got the idea for this dream from the movie "workingman's death" because there was one part of it that showed guys in nigeria slaughtering cattle. it didn't happen the same way though, and there was no ceremony.

i dreamt i was trying to call my friend, whose real name is michael jackson, but i kept hitting the wrong number from my contacts list and this girl answered and i was like "hi is this michael jackson?" and she got angry and i was like "oh you must think i'm pranking you but i am looking for someone whose name is michael jackson, i must have the wrong number" so i called again and got her again and she was still mad and i was like "i just want to talk to michael jackson!" and she hung up on me and i never got to talk to him.

the horrible lucid kind?

yeah my trial practice final is not til next week (we have to do a trial on a fake contract claim) and i dreamt i showed up at the courthouse just to watch my friends do theirs and the judge was like "i think you should do yours now instead" and i didn't have the right book with me (the one i had looked exactly the same but was missing all the depositions) and i hadn't prepared any of my arguments or examinations and forgot all the evidence rules so i went running around downtown trying to find someone who had the book and to find people to act as witnesses and jurors. the judge also laughed at me because i was wearing street clothes instead of lawyer clothes. and i yelled at him and said "i can't believe you're making me do this today! YOUR HONOR!" i was so glad to hear my alarm go off because it made me go "oh good that wasn't real." lol.

I dreamt I was driving home from work, and as I pulled up to my house I saw that someone had constructed a big ass concrete speed bump at the base of my driveway. I hopped out of the car and started picking away at the obstacle with a hammer and chisel. A bunch of rotten, putrid fish fillets were embedded in the concrete, and I piled them up on the driveway as I worked. Once I finished the job, I chucked the fish into my neighbor's pool.

I dreamt I was dating a possessed girl. she was really sweet, but every minute or so a demon would enter her body & her eyes would cloud over & she'd give me a really evil stare. it only lasted for a few seconds at a time, but it was really freaky, and sometimes when she was possessed she would make jerky hand movements and growl something cryptic (but not necessarily evil) like, "we're waiting for the doctor." I met her family at a dinner party, and they were really embarrassed whenever she got possessed. and one time when we were in class together, one student was bullying a gay kid, and when my girlfriend went into one of her fits, she glared at the bully and was like, "cut it out with the homophobia." I guess her demon wasn't so evil after all, but it still creeped me out.

I also had a dream that I wrote down a detailed summary of the demon dream in my dream log. I don't even keep a dream log.

I've had a few other dreams about writing in a dream log. it seems like half of my dreams these days are meta.

harbl said something about meta dreams upthread, so I guess I'm not the only one. the demon dream was even more complicated because in one version of the dream, everything was happening in real life, and in another version, I was an actor in a youtube tv series about a guy with a haunted girlfriend. it seems like even my subconscious is tainted by our hypermediated society. pretty soon all of my dreams will be about posting to Ask Dr. Freud.

I dreamt that my mom and I were on vacation in Costa Rica. it was a brief overnight visit, and we spent the entire time sitting in our hotel room watching tv. the remote control was weird because it had two extra buttons: one labeled 'ZOMBIES 'N' BLOOD' and another labeled 'CHILI'S'. when I pressed the 'CHILI'S' button, I was treated to an on-demand horror movie compilation sponsored by Chili's® Grill & Bar. I didn't press the 'ZOMBIES 'N' BLOOD' button.

i dreamt i was possibly in the military or something, outdoors in nature in a line w other dudes and we were all peeing….when i finished peeing part of my penis detached and fell to the ground. On the ground it turned into a snake w red and black stripes but still w the head of a penis.. I didnt really want anyone to notice so i surreptitiously picked it up and tried to put it as a bookmark in a book to save it.. as i went to close the book its tongue shot out and hissed and i dropped the book

i dreamt that there was a famous image file called "indies.jpg" that people would post online a lot, it had some sort of storied history and was known to everyone by precisely that filename, kind of like canyon.mid or whatever. the actual image was just a solid turquoise field with a black and white pixelated smudge at the lower right. when i woke up i immediately went to my computer and opened up ms paint and tried my best to replicate it as i saw it in the dream. so, here is my recreation of the famous indies.jpg
