never has the repetition of the sentence "i'm in an airport" made for so much comedy as in this thread

rrrobyn, breeze blown meadow of cheeriness (rrrobyn), Friday, 12 January 2007 21:59 (seventeen years ago) link

it sounds like the beginning of a monologue, like "i am sitting in a room..."

shanghaied by the dragon lady (get bent), Friday, 12 January 2007 22:10 (seventeen years ago) link

It sounds like the first line of every new screen in an text-based computer game (excuse me, "INTERACTIVE FICTION"): "You are standing in a leafy glade. To the north, a path leads into the dark interior."

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 12 January 2007 22:11 (seventeen years ago) link

"to the south, a family in matching tracksuits, screaming at each other by the quantas ticket desk"

rrrobyn, breeze blown meadow of cheeriness (rrrobyn), Friday, 12 January 2007 22:17 (seventeen years ago) link

lols!

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 12 January 2007 22:18 (seventeen years ago) link

i think slocki should make a movie called i'm in an airport, loosely based on this thread
and his childhood

rrrobyn, breeze blown meadow of cheeriness (rrrobyn), Friday, 12 January 2007 22:21 (seventeen years ago) link

i want to write the american version of the movie, ala the office

rrrobyn, breeze blown meadow of cheeriness (rrrobyn), Friday, 12 January 2007 22:32 (seventeen years ago) link

i missed the QUEBEC Office!
was it terrible?

i think the show was either
"made in canada"
or
"the newsroom"

rrrobyn, breeze blown meadow of cheeriness (rrrobyn), Friday, 12 January 2007 22:34 (seventeen years ago) link

i only saw one episode and it revolved around the anchor guy reporting on a story in which he was being accused of some pedophile shit and he was convinced that he was guilty.

jambalaya backgammon (grady), Friday, 12 January 2007 22:38 (seventeen years ago) link

both are horrible.

s1ocki (slutsky), Friday, 12 January 2007 22:38 (seventeen years ago) link

i have come to quite love the american office tho.

s1ocki (slutsky), Friday, 12 January 2007 22:38 (seventeen years ago) link

yes, both are def not any form of the office.
i love the american office, a lot
an english canadian version would be, probably not very good

1) bought a breakfast bagel and coffee
2) watched CNN coverage of state of the union
3) fell asleep waiting for my flight to board
4) woke up about two minutes two late to still board.
5) got a boarding pass for the next flight (in two hours)
6) chugged some Air-Borne

jambalaya backgammon (grady), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 13:05 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm in an airport.

The ZRH terminal's color scheme is blue-grey and slate with a touch of red from the Swiss souvenir shop. I have an unconscious feeling that background music is playing somewhere but in true Enoian spirit I can't discern it. Large windows face the main runway and taxiways and there's just enough sunlight filtering through the clouds to vaguely color everything outside. With the exception of some ugly Americans (the ugliest being a loud guy in a Green Bay Packers sweatshirt who was berating a Swiss shopclerk because he couldn't take a liquid-filled snowglobe on a plane) most everyone here is pretty well dressed - businessmen taking one of the many outgoing flights to France, Germany, and Dubai.

Overall, I feel like I'm in a photo shoot for Nokia advertisments.
