what worries me is that the more popular it gets the more money the fighters make then kids will get into it to make more money and the whole thing snowballs and boxing goes into decline and it's not on TV anymore. UFC has already taken a LOT of boxing fans away.

well boxing has barely been on tv at all over here for years, so the thinking goes if you can get people to watch dudes beating on each other, they might also be interested in boxing. and I agree with that. room at the table for multiple fighting sports imo

Boxing needs a couple of great exciting heavyweights to come along as that's been lacking for a good while now.

Yeah same here j0hn, its sat/digital only mostly. And as soon as any fighter gets popular it's then PPV so hardly anyone ever sees the fights.

I miss all those big fights on sat evenings on the BBC & ITV I grew up watching in the 80s.

middleweights? nobody I know of. edwin valero is the fun guy to watch right now, he's a lightweight, also I am a huge abner mares stan - undefeated bantamweight outta jalisco, really great

round 8 - headbutts, blood, desperation - not as good as 7, these guys do not have really good styles

litzau by decision - something pretty stinky about the stoppage, it was a fresh cut & they hadn't given the corner a chance to try and fix it

yeah J0rd I'm into tactics but there's seriously LOADS of just head-fakes & stances in this fight - it's like dance - kinda rad, but after round 6 you kinda want more of that

He might well have but for me he hasn't shown it enough since turning pro. Too many poor fights against poor opponents you'd expect him (based on his early career) to sweep aside.

Sprott looked capable of taking him out again last night and as a rule he doesn't really take anyone out.

I watched the Ordinary Harrison fight, he was fucking terrible and why he doesn't retire right now christ only knows. There are no title-holders in that division that he's got the slightest chance of getting a result over.

Some great fights tonight. Almost PPV worthy I think. Bute-Miranda and Pavlik-Martinez. HBO. Good time to be a boxing fan. Very little chance these will be dull matches.
