SP: Well, you know Jeremy, we’re overtaxed. And Beethoven says, well, goshdarnit, just try and govern that fugue subject. Cause he knows that government is really the problem, and the scariest two words in the English language are “Schenkerian Analysis.”

lolololol

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Thursday, 30 October 2008 21:01 (fifteen years ago) link

I wish I knew what that meant.

Heading off to class soon. Not happy about it. I get to come home and collapse afterward, though, so at least there's THAT.

Go have awesome evenings, ITR.

THESE FLATS DON'T RUN.

I looked at that page for two seconds before realizing that my brain is no longer able to take in information. It's a sad night, folks.

Sara R-C, Friday, 31 October 2008 04:30 (fifteen years ago) link

oh man i am reading it for like the 5th time and it's STILL killing me!!

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Friday, 31 October 2008 04:44 (fifteen years ago) link

Honestly, I saw, like, three unfamiliar words and backed out of it. Way too much like trying to puzzle out some of the stuff in my nursing textbooks. (And at least I get some lecture to try to sort some of that out...)

Sara R-C, Friday, 31 October 2008 05:02 (fifteen years ago) link

Okay, I'm happy now; I saw the Zogby numbers for the day. Bedtime for exhausted student nurses.

Apparently my body no longer believes it can sleep for more than 4 hours at a time.

Mavericks lost last night. I had been looking forwards to the season starting since the last one ended. Hopefully the next game will turn out better. :(

it's a SIGN

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Friday, 31 October 2008 13:12 (fifteen years ago) link

I'll take solace in that.

apparently my body now believes it must sleep through every alarm i set and make me late for work. awesome.

Susan, we need to trade bodies for a few days. Mine keeps WAKING UP.

I decided last night that Nate Silver is my new random unattainable crush. His website rocks and has been keeping me sane, plus I like the way he talks about crosstabs. HOTT.

Sara R-C, Friday, 31 October 2008 16:29 (fifteen years ago) link

I think TZA the one who's sleepy although I can sympathize with her.

is there a good online to find free full literature texts? G's next paper is on some classic plays and I figure there must be someplace to read thm.

wow, my sentence coherence sucks today.

A socialist who's happy to spread the wealth (Susan), Friday, 31 October 2008 17:53 (fifteen years ago) link

there are a lot of classic plays online... i can't remember site names, but they come up pretty easily with a google.

tehresa, i thought of you: devo is dressed like DEVO today

i totally want to come work there.

A. has some engaged co-workers who are dressed as Jack and Meg White today. They look pretty good!

Sara R-C, Friday, 31 October 2008 18:36 (fifteen years ago) link

That's a good costume idea.

I really wish I had donned my Palin idea but I am lazy and boring.

A socialist who's happy to spread the wealth (Susan), Friday, 31 October 2008 18:39 (fifteen years ago) link

One of the women in my class is dressing as Palin today and she looks scarily convincing. She does a pretty good imitation, too. I could never live up to that.

Plus I just don't have boots like that, and I am not going to shave my legs and put on pantyhose and heels for Halloween. I'm way too lazy for that on a Friday after a hellish week.

Sara R-C, Friday, 31 October 2008 19:18 (fifteen years ago) link

hey guys, buy the new Cure album

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Friday, 31 October 2008 19:22 (fifteen years ago) link

God I need money. And time.

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Friday, 31 October 2008 21:02 (fifteen years ago) link

I've never bought a Cure album in my life. 2008 is probably not a time to start.

A socialist who's happy to spread the wealth (Susan), Friday, 31 October 2008 21:11 (fifteen years ago) link

It's never too late, Susan. Trust me.

Sara R-C, Friday, 31 October 2008 21:17 (fifteen years ago) link

...to get up and GO!

mookieproof, Friday, 31 October 2008 21:27 (fifteen years ago) link

The last actual CD I bought was Lil' Wayne, Tha Carter III. I don't know if my tastes would mesh with The Cure.

A socialist who's happy to spread the wealth (Susan), Friday, 31 October 2008 21:30 (fifteen years ago) link

Buy Cure album now please. He said.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 31 October 2008 21:39 (fifteen years ago) link

Well, what is the title? I'll put it on my wish list for Christmas. I just had to spend $150 on textbooks for my next class, so all I can afford is candy on clearance (starting tomorrow!)

Sara R-C, Friday, 31 October 2008 21:49 (fifteen years ago) link

Also, what is the title of the Cure album just previous to this one? (Dan, you had a song on your myspace page from the Cure at one point and I loved it... but no clue what it was...)

Sara R-C, Friday, 31 October 2008 21:50 (fifteen years ago) link

mookieproof, Friday, 31 October 2008 23:50 (fifteen years ago) link
