hello itr!

i have the whole day AND the whole weekend off! thank god! because my job gets more boring each day!

the upside is that i'm reading heaps more than normal - i get through 1 or 2 books during a work week.

undiscovered cuntry (Rubyredd), Thursday, 30 October 2008 15:30 (fifteen years ago) link

and for anyone who cares: i went to a special screening of 'ghost world' and got daniel clowes' signature.

my job is almost like having the day off today... my boss's ceiling has apparently fallen in (this goes back to her trying to get a leak fixed for the past several months) and she has an appointment out of the office, so she's not coming in. this means i have essentially nothing to do but sit back and listen to the rehearsal monitor.

I really wish I had today off. There's a lot of things going home and pampering myself at home would be ideal. But I have an increasingly intense deadline next week. My lack of motivation and focus is increasing the fear by the moment.

i am really bored. the low levelness of this job is starting to catch up with me. this is not good. i want to stay here, and need to stick it out in hopes of getting something better (that is, if i don't get laid off during this budget cutting season), but argh! i just want to use my skills to do awesome work! why is that so hard?!?!

i had to do some mom placation and now she's coming to visit in a few weeks

hopefully her teats will not mystericate

Wow you guys are all having weird days. Or is my perspective all skewed now?

Paper finished, nearly had a breakdown figuring out how to submit all the documents digitally, am now at computer, nearly inert. I should eat, but I don't know what to eat and last time I looked at the kitchen it was SCARY.

Tonight's class content is writing our own Heath Care Power of Attorney/end of life care stuff. Which seems so appropriate, since this paper nearly killed me. Can't wait for 9:20 tonight, so I can be bored with the rest of you!

i just ordered a bunch of knee high socks and am now happy.

I have just resigned my job, they offered me the opportunity to take it with me to wherever I end up, which is nice but I am so glad to be leaving this crazy industry.

Now for beers and dancing to monumental, loud, 11-piece folk band.

i believe he is married (to a lady). i would like to think he is v v nice becuase of the time i heard him tell the cashier in the cafeteria "thank you" in his sexy baritone voice, but you know, i could be making up a personality based on looks and one "thank you."

SP: Well, you know Jeremy, we’re overtaxed. And Beethoven says, well, goshdarnit, just try and govern that fugue subject. Cause he knows that government is really the problem, and the scariest two words in the English language are “Schenkerian Analysis.”

lolololol

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Thursday, 30 October 2008 21:01 (fifteen years ago) link

I wish I knew what that meant.

Heading off to class soon. Not happy about it. I get to come home and collapse afterward, though, so at least there's THAT.

Go have awesome evenings, ITR.

Honestly, I saw, like, three unfamiliar words and backed out of it. Way too much like trying to puzzle out some of the stuff in my nursing textbooks. (And at least I get some lecture to try to sort some of that out...)

Okay, I'm happy now; I saw the Zogby numbers for the day. Bedtime for exhausted student nurses.

Mavericks lost last night. I had been looking forwards to the season starting since the last one ended. Hopefully the next game will turn out better. :(

Susan, we need to trade bodies for a few days. Mine keeps WAKING UP.

I decided last night that Nate Silver is my new random unattainable crush. His website rocks and has been keeping me sane, plus I like the way he talks about crosstabs. HOTT.

is there a good online to find free full literature texts? G's next paper is on some classic plays and I figure there must be someplace to read thm.
