Anytime.

if it's just been refrigerated, probably won't need too long. i'd try a minute and then touch it to see how hot it is. if it's frozen, might need a couple of minutes.

thanks nick, the microwave is shared between about 20 offices, and there's always a queue to use it. i didn't have any idea if it was 30 seconds or 5 minutes, didn't want to be the asshole stopping my food every 10 seconds to try it, and googling wasn't helpful.
happy birthday kelsey! are you doing anything fun for your big day?

thanks for all the birthday wishes! i feel like i've been celebrating since friday - i flew out to DE to visit my family on thursday night & spent the weekend there eating great food, drinking great wine & just having all around excellent family time. Today I got to my office & my work friend had coated my desk & wall space with banners, balloons, confetti, etc. Another co-worker baked brownies for me & another friend brought by some flowers! It's been a wonderful day! I need to do some homework for my sound art class tonight but I'm hoping Leaf & I will eat a nice dinner together & have some snuggle time later...

I bought a box of Raisinets. It feels wrong somehow to eat Raisinets at work. I should be sitting in a stadium theater seat, about to watch "Black Cop/White Cop".

HB kels! So close to Xmas! Doesn't that cut into your overall present take?
― kenan, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 20:31 (sixteen years ago) link
Probably? I dunno. It sucked when I was younger b/c everyone was all over giving me "birthmas" presents & I wanted a lot more presents than that. I suppose it has built up some good character.

I wonder if they're going to keep doing those issues devoted to a single Chicago neighborhood, since Harold Henderson had a pretty big hand in the Logan Square and Uptown issues.

Wash your hair less and condition.
― Laurel, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:22 (sixteen years ago) link
Alternately use a less harsh shampoo.

Haha, sorry, Jordan! I didn't know if you were one of those guys who uses bar soap in the shower every day, like.
― Laurel, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:30 (sixteen years ago) link
Uh, I do do that, I just don't wash my hair much! :)

I had a feeling...I think my brother uses Dr Bronner's for EVERYTHING.
― Laurel, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:32 (sixteen years ago) link
Jordan, I made all of them public on my Flickr page. The newest one is #6.

xpost, that is awesome
― Jordan, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:37 (sixteen years ago) link
you could get a special shampoo too, jordan. leaf uses the neutrogena t gel stuff for his baldy head but there are lots of options, including a few natural ones.
― sweet tater, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:38 (sixteen years ago) link
I absolutely have to wash my hair every day or else 1. I look like my hair is wet (I have super-fine hair), 2. I lose my fucking mind, 3. my face gets oily.
― Jesse, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:39 (sixteen years ago) link
i can't go more than one day w/o washing or it just looks very obviously oily.
― sweet tater, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:40 (sixteen years ago) link
dudes, seriously, i think i have some sort of burrito problem. i just visited taco bell's site to see if there was one somewhere in the loop. there isn't but there is one at the oglivie transportation center i guess. i found myself thinking "i could get off at monroe then walk down to madison, cross the river then maybe get back on at clinton?" FOR A TACO BELL TACO. god help me.
― chicago kevin, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 21:57 (sixteen years ago) link
er, taco bell burrito.
Taqueria Moran, dude.
I just got an email from my mom saying they had to put the cat down. RIP Polly Dactyl :(
― dan m, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 22:09 (sixteen years ago) link
who are you calling moran?
sorry about kitty big yella.
― chicago kevin, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 22:10 (sixteen years ago) link
There is a Taco Bell down Stony Island at 87th street, near the entrance ramp for the Skyway.
― dan m, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 22:12 (sixteen years ago) link
Aww, sorry Dan. :( Did she have lots of toes?
― Jordan, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 22:13 (sixteen years ago) link
i'm not taking a bus 27 blocks south! the metra will get me back to the loop before the #28 bus could get me down there. i just have to hold out until i'm on the blue line. if the train isn't too crowded and i can get off at division i'm going to la pasadita. if i can't get off until damen i'm going to picante.
― chicago kevin, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 22:15 (sixteen years ago) link
why would you go to taco bell in CHICAGO?!
― Jordan, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 22:16 (sixteen years ago) link
Yup, she had 26 toes. Her paw prints are in a section of cement walkway my folks had put in a couple of years ago, so there is some proof.
Taqueria Moran, under the Cali stop. That's where you want to go, man. I only mentioned the TB down south because our old boss used to go there when he was having bad days. It's not even a walk-in restaurant, it has two drive thrus and that's it.
― dan m, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 22:17 (sixteen years ago) link
is that the place that's just south of the el on the east side of the street? or is it across the street from the station house on the west side?
― chicago kevin, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 22:20 (sixteen years ago) link
Across the street. Best salsa verde I've had in my time here, and the rest of the food is pretty unfadeable too.
― dan m, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 22:21 (sixteen years ago) link
People who've seen No Country for Old Men: is it important that I see it on a good screen? I'm thinking about seeing it tonight, and I can either go to the Davis, which is right near my place, or the Landmark, which I'd have to drive to but which is a better theater.
