you gonna tell em to stop using "heads" or "in a minute" too

i have a problem with rap writers co-opting the homophobic rap slang "(pause)" in the same way that i would have a problem if xxl changed their editorial policy to state that every female subject in the magazine be referred to as a "bitch" or a "ho"

yeah but that's not really the policy right now is it? you're kinda reading a lot into one guy's offhand comment on a staff comment page, a page where naturally the responses are going to be more casual/reflective of street use

i love the dichotomy of that cover featuring complex's never ending desire to use trendy rap slang & said slang being meticulously copy edited

but that is a pretty flaming cover

& dyao i'm sure if i read rap magazines more often than once every few months when i skim through them i would be able to find more examples of this

eh I just dunno why you're singling out this particular aspect of rap to be offended about

it has much more to do with journalism than it has to do with rap
