the whole process is so romantic, the different smells throughout the day as the sauce is being prepared, the different messes on the counter, the meatballs sizzling in the pan right as you start think about dinner, the dinner....

Surmounter, Sunday, 16 September 2007 23:46 (sixteen years ago) link

which reminds me, i really need 2 buy lady and the tramp soon

Surmounter, Monday, 17 September 2007 00:30 (sixteen years ago) link

You should definitely eat breakfast. Isn't called most important meal of the day for nothing.

I eat breakfast: feel I'll vomit all day. Acid throat from hell. First solids I can manage are lunch. Sad but true :(

Had a good weekend. Culture night was a bit animal so didn't get to do the tour of State Apartments in Dublin Castle. Saw a dodgy documentary on La Chaise cemetery on Sat and then took the uncle out for dinner with my s.o. Sunday I shopped for wedding. I am now excited. Now need to learn how to bow tie, my younger sister is still on holiday and she was the only one who could figure out how to tie the effing thing!

Good morning everyone!

After a very, very drunken weekend I still have some sausages in the fridge, having eaten some of them last night. NOM NOM NOM.

aldo, Monday, 17 September 2007 09:02 (sixteen years ago) link

Oh man, cold sausages are the best!

kv_nol, Monday, 17 September 2007 09:19 (sixteen years ago) link

They are very big though. Natural casings do swell quite a bit.

aldo, Monday, 17 September 2007 09:22 (sixteen years ago) link

Hur hur hur

kv_nol, Monday, 17 September 2007 10:01 (sixteen years ago) link

Me and Mister M have just been out and spent our SSIA money. New 40" Samsung telly! New sofa covered in hard-wearing fabric that dogs cannot destroy! So excited now.

accentmonkey, Monday, 17 September 2007 11:10 (sixteen years ago) link

Congrats on the new goods!

I arrived at work at quarter after 6 this morning. hurrah!

Ms Misery, Monday, 17 September 2007 11:38 (sixteen years ago) link

Still an hour from coffee. :(

Ms Misery, Monday, 17 September 2007 12:30 (sixteen years ago) link

Much better than trip to Antarctic imho!!

kv_nol, Monday, 17 September 2007 12:31 (sixteen years ago) link

Well yes, especially since by going to the Antarctic we would be helping to destroy it. So no Antarctic for me. Instead I shall watch it from the comfort of my huge, Irish-built, hopefully long-lasting couch.

I can't make many claims for the sustainability of the new TV, but Mister M insisted on it.

accentmonkey, Monday, 17 September 2007 13:18 (sixteen years ago) link

Today is travel day! Amsterdam or bust.

Rock Hardy, Monday, 17 September 2007 13:50 (sixteen years ago) link

Have fun!

Ms Misery, Monday, 17 September 2007 13:51 (sixteen years ago) link

I'm going to block up the last 10% of my arteries and have Accentmonkey ship my body home.

Rock Hardy, Monday, 17 September 2007 13:53 (sixteen years ago) link

Good plan! Have a good time all of yous!

kv_nol, Monday, 17 September 2007 13:55 (sixteen years ago) link

Me and Mister M have just been out and spent our SSIA money. New 40" Samsung telly! New sofa covered in hard-wearing fabric that dogs cannot destroy! So excited now.

Me and Neil have been out spending our hard-earned profits from the sale of the last house. New suite! New sofa bed! Half of IKEA!!!! New LCD telly! Sky+ box at last, I am up with the modern TV experience, no more videos for us! New bedding! A Wii!!!! I is a consumer and I LOVE IT!

ailsa, Monday, 17 September 2007 14:38 (sixteen years ago) link

Score all round! Especially nice re. profit! YAY!

kv_nol, Monday, 17 September 2007 14:44 (sixteen years ago) link

Most of profit went on deposit, paying off existing debts and buying new cars, but still, enough to go a little mad on buying stuff.

ailsa, Monday, 17 September 2007 14:47 (sixteen years ago) link

I am jealous of new car and bed. :(

Ms Misery, Monday, 17 September 2007 14:47 (sixteen years ago) link

New car is broked and in the garage getting a new alternator :-( Stuff be expensive :-(

Still no home internets, but hopefully back to you all soon. Am missing ILX less than I thought, which has got to be a good thing though.

ailsa, Monday, 17 September 2007 14:50 (sixteen years ago) link

oh you crazy celtic consumers. i await the david mcwilliams novel.

really, i'm just jealous cos i'm broke after a trip to london.

darraghmac, Monday, 17 September 2007 14:53 (sixteen years ago) link

ILx is boring right now Ailsa. You are not missing much.

Work has broking my head.

Ms Misery, Monday, 17 September 2007 16:06 (sixteen years ago) link

Am missing ILX less than I thought, which has got to be a good thing though.

Maybe we miss you, did you ever think about that, Ms. NewBed? Hmm?

accentmonkey, Monday, 17 September 2007 17:45 (sixteen years ago) link

Am missing ILX less

I've gone from 69th up to 43rd or something in the monthly stats. I need to miss ILX more. Or at least stop posting drunk.

onimo, Monday, 17 September 2007 18:01 (sixteen years ago) link

we just bought all new appliances! Will be delivered by next week!

Maria :D, Monday, 17 September 2007 18:25 (sixteen years ago) link

Yay! New appliances rock. I still love mine and they are becoming less new.

Splenda looks like coke. I'm just saying.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 13:22 (sixteen years ago) link

I don't understand Splenda. Isn't it supposed to be able to catch on fire at high temperatures or something? Or become toxic? Anyway, there seem to be as many web pages devoted to telling you not to eat it as there are telling you not to drink Diet Coke, so I'm steering clear of it.

accentmonkey, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 13:58 (sixteen years ago) link

Aren't all sugar sub. supposed to be bad for you. I don't drink much coffee or tea so don't use them often. Have also all but given up soda.

It was just chunky this morning and made me thing of drugzlol.

Any Americans watch K-Ville last night?

I wanted to come in at 6am again today but after being here until 6 last night and working at home until I went to bed at 10, my body had other ideas. I appreciate it when it keeps me in check.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 14:06 (sixteen years ago) link

That sounds like too long a day. I have a flat viewing tonight then have to iron dress shirt, polish shoes. Pack enough for 5 days and chill with s.o. before flying out tomorrow. It's all go!

kv_nol, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 14:36 (sixteen years ago) link

guys, hi.

Surmounter, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 14:38 (sixteen years ago) link

yo.

kv_nol, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 14:43 (sixteen years ago) link

I forgot I'm hosting a party this saturday and the house is a holy filthy mess. I hope I don't have a ton of work to do this weekend.

I'm going to implode.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 14:45 (sixteen years ago) link

Now would be the time for that tea methinks!

Parties are easy, let Mr Mis be host, you can hide out by cooler and build up to making your way inside greeting by greeting. You'll meet everyone and have an easy topic to start talking about (beerzlol or winelol) which will make you feel more comfortable.

kv_nol, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 14:50 (sixteen years ago) link

What's the occasion, Ms Mis?

Michael White, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 14:58 (sixteen years ago) link

wine of both colours, crackers and pate, reasonably clean house, lots of seating, and a bit of quiet music.

party sorted.

darraghmac, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 15:21 (sixteen years ago) link

Don't forget: midgets carrying salvers of cocaine

kv_nol, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 15:22 (sixteen years ago) link

well, i assumed they'd been sorted already, tbh

sorry kev, not been keeping up with things, where you off to?

darraghmac, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 15:23 (sixteen years ago) link

Stag in Rome Wed & Thurs, wedding in Florence Fri, Sat, Sun. Fly home Mon.

kv_nol, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 15:24 (sixteen years ago) link

Don't forget: midgets carrying salvers of cocaine

Nor the baptismal font filled with lube

Michael White, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 15:24 (sixteen years ago) link

cut to the catholic s£x thread, then.

darraghmac, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 15:25 (sixteen years ago) link

It's all about the details... (xpost)

kv_nol, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 15:26 (sixteen years ago) link

Parties are easy, let Mr Mis be host,

HAH! It is the Potter Party I fretted over a few weeks ago. It was cancelled at the last minute as one of us fell dreadfully ill. I am making a treacle tart and some other goodies, must clean as everything's gone to sh*t while I've been so busy, restock alcohol (all previously bought likker has been imbibed) and decorate.

argggh work1

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 15:33 (sixteen years ago) link

lots of snogging and grumbling about adults then

darraghmac, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 15:36 (sixteen years ago) link

Pals!

I am off for some days in Hamsterjam. Have a lovely time at the wedding, Kev-lol! Have a great party, Ms. M.

Everyone else, as you were.

accentmonkey, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 17:12 (sixteen years ago) link

Have fun! Eat some brownies for us!

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 17:20 (sixteen years ago) link

A Potter party sounds like fun - hope it's great, Sam!

luna, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 17:26 (sixteen years ago) link

Have fun Accentmonkey, Mr Monkey, Rock and DV. Enjoy!

I'll do my best to match the festivities in Italy.

Hope party goes well Ms Mis.

The rest of you: behave.

kv_nol, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 21:44 (sixteen years ago) link

Yeah, like that's going to happen.

Michael White, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 21:56 (sixteen years ago) link

Whee, back from the city! Surmounter, I'm so glad you enjoyed the salsa! I looked for you after the show but I was in a bit of a daze and had no idea where to look. Such an intense play, AND NO ONE WARNED ME that I'd be seeing a knight's package on stage. Woo! :)

That salsa's truly the best and comes from the town of Telephone, Texas (so-called because it was the only town with a telephone int hat neck of the woods). I sent accentmonkey the same. When it comes to sending packages, I say damn the postage expense. It is a form of recreation for me, I figure, and it's a sin tax.
