v disappointed by the top 2. Daniel is just a really mediocre song lacking energy and ffs You Belong With Me, vocals aside, is the most boring and actually bland musical composition i heard last year along with all other TS. i am quitting polls forever etc.

I have no opinion on the Taylor Swift song, or the fact that it's #1. Daniel is pretty great, though if we were going through the nominations process again, I may have nommed Sleep Alone instead of Pearl's Dream. Sleep Alone has grown on me a lot in just the last month or so.

ftr i absolutely abhorred the first bat for lashes album. 'daniel' just came up on a playlist somewhere and i was astonished.

Once you get into Two Suns (if you try, that is), go back to the first album again. It seems so much better now that you can put it in some context.

who me? i'm pretty easily pleased! hating on Swift's music would be a total waste of time if it wasn't for just how popular it is. so really i only dislike it for the same reasons i dislike 'I Gotta Feeling' and Coldplay.

I didn't have a particularly good tracks list (though that doesn't stop me from being "ugh" about a lot of the choices here) but I did vote for Omar Souleyman... and 'In the NA' (who was it who was the big repper here? I am sceptical about some of their other stuff, but this particular song is fucking excellent).

I am not really a tracks person either which was why the Omar S really stood out, I listened to those LPs a fair amount in 09.

am really glad the the constituency of ilm has changed to move away from scandopop-fetishising

this is so not a good thing. i'm beyond disappointed by the lack of el perro del mar and air france in this list.

also- hurray for "one day"! i almost voted for it but went with holy ghost instead, so i'm glad it placed. it's probably the better of those two songs anyhow
