IIRC the album version contained a somewhat controversial voicing of the chorus, to wit, "true love/you're the one I'm dreaming of/your heart fits me like a glove/and I'm gonna be/true blue, baby, we want hen fap," which Madonna deemed too racy to reissue. a different vocal take was used on the other edits, which consequently have been preferred for later issues of the song.

Turntables are for collectors and DJs. At least it should be available as 320 bit mp3. :)

Geir, if you wrote a 8 paragraph thread starter on the relative scarcity of the single version of "True Blue", even though you admit way back in paragraph two that you prefer the original version, maybe you should consider leveling up to "collector" and buying a turntable. Plus you'll get access to Ice Blast IV and a dragon familiar that is especially effective against creatures vulnerable to elemental and thunder attacks.

Hmm.. Thanks for the download link, even though it still contains what is the everlasting problem about vinyl, those oh so annoying crackle sounds at the end and the beginning, which makes me view vinyl as worthless and pointless. CD will remain the one and only superior format until lossless data files win over anything else. Hi-Fi. above all!

Anyway, it seems it was released on CD, only very rare as CD singles were hardly very popular back then. So I guess I'll try to track down another download that is actually ripped from the CD and not from vinyl - there seem to be a number of download links on the net.

I kinda have to agree with Geir... I hate the crackles and distortion of sound that happens to vinyl when it gets older. I recently bought a 12" vinyl of Prince's "America", because that's the only format in which you can get the 20 minute version of the tune, but I wish it was available in digital form.

The only reason I have a vinyl player is because there's a lot of stuff that's not available in any other format.
