John, their drummer, was kind enough to host in his home for something like 3 or 4 days the band I'm managing when they played in NYC. We're still very very grateful.

one year passes...

They're playing Saturday at Northsix with Parts&Labor and Ex Models. I'd especially like to see Ex Models. Not positive I will go because I'll be getting ready to travel, but I thought I throw this out there.

ex-models are sorta excruciatingly bad now. tho maybe kid will be playing drums with them? last time i "saw" them i think it was a drum machine (stayed in another room).

I'm not crazy about the Parts&Labor stuff I'm hearing online -- I'm sure they'll be fun live, especially with their sick drummer, but they sound kind of Lite--ning Bolt. A bit too tuneful and jammy for my taste.

As far as Ex-Models, I like some of the new stuff I've heard, but I haven't seen them live in a couple years.

Ex-Models were really disappointing when I saw them last summer. Oneida is consistently great, though.

Nothing to do with this show but I was listening to The Wedding and I can see what you were saying about the vocals before, Hurting. It does kind of drag things down a bit since the tunes, guitars, and synths are great. So I wonder if maybe the older stuff, where the vocals were less central, may have been stronger. I should pull out E1T1 and Secret Wars some time.

Peter, we have a new album out in July; a split w/Kinski in the fall; a couple more splits and a triple CD in 2007. Much work is being done...

In the meantime, can there please be more talk about Star Trek and less about NYC?
