New album's actually pretty good. A complete change of tack to sleek 80s rock (Full Moon Fever would be a decent comparison point). Never liked them before, but starting to admire Charlie Fink's willingness to do something different every time he goes in a studio, regardless of the fact that the people who liked the previous album will be baffled: each has been very different to the last.

I preferred them when he sounded clinically depressed

Tom Petty influence is crazily obvious there - Free Fallin'/Don't Come Around Here No More vibe.

Family Force 5 (often abbreviated FF5, formerly known as The Phamily and The Brothers) is a Christian crunk rock[3] band from Atlanta, Georgia.[3]

there's a yacht remix by these guys which i really like, somewhat odd considering both yacht & noah atw are utterly shithouse on their own

the life goes on single has to be the most intolerable shite since toploader unloaded dancing in the moonlight on the world.
can't bear to look at the lyrics but there's a whole lotta smugness goin on i suspect.

I've listened to every single band since opening this thread. I'm finding ZZ Top's "Mescalero" to be a good antidote to the Shitey McWhitey devilishness going on here
