I started this thread because I am about to fly out to Uganda, where hyraxes abound in the wild. I hope to take pictures of them looking cross. NB the guide book I have lists them under 'Oddities'.

The Hyrax strikes me as being a bit like the Capybara, in that its young are just miniature versions of the adults.

isn't that like every mammal ever?

Well, not human babies. Or puppies. Or kittens. What I mean is that Capybara babies look just as sensible as their parents, and are similarly proportioned, while hyrax babies look just as fierce.
