As Col. Poo points out, other people are often wrong about Bedhead.

They did a nice job with Cher's "Believe" as well (collab w/ Macha).

Newness Ends by the New Year (post-Bedhead band) is really good too.

My "180gram" vinyl copy of that album sounds like it was forged from granite.

two months pass...

those 2 last tracks from the japanese release has turned into an EP.
"sun down/sun rise".
and it's good, more ambient like.

It was always going to be a 12" ep. But there was delays and it surfaced on the japanese 2cd 1st.

There's also a couple of ep's later this year to come. A split with Eluvium I think on Hydrahead/TRL.

conqueror i really do dig. but lately s/t has been revealing itself to me in awesome new ways. some great moody stuff there

Charlie Howard, Monday, 19 May 2008 17:20 (fifteen years ago) link

S/T is definitely the best.

Herman G. Neuname, Monday, 19 May 2008 17:31 (fifteen years ago) link

they are all good! a track off of "silver" came up on shuffle the other day and blew my mind.

cutty, Monday, 19 May 2008 17:33 (fifteen years ago) link

They are all good... For me, "all" means s/t, Silver, Conqueror, and Lifeline.

Anyone care to comment on the rarities comp. or any of the weirder releases? Wish I could find that stuff...

Usual Channels, Monday, 19 May 2008 17:47 (fifteen years ago) link

conquerer really grew on me

latebloomer, Monday, 19 May 2008 17:48 (fifteen years ago) link

I really like the rarities comp a lot, "Don't Dream It" is one of the best things he's recorded as Jesu.

aldo, Tuesday, 20 May 2008 12:11 (fifteen years ago) link

i dunno, i've listened to my rarities comp. once through and it came across as kinda underdeveloped.

stephen, Tuesday, 20 May 2008 20:03 (fifteen years ago) link

I think the rarities comp is the only thing I don't have... Is it worth it/still available?

jonathan - stl, Tuesday, 20 May 2008 20:20 (fifteen years ago) link

man, this jarboe/broadrick thing is shit. after the first couple of tracks it's just adult contemporary goth metal and sinister weather channel music. ugh.

GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ, Thursday, 26 June 2008 13:37 (fifteen years ago) link

jarboe has some good synth sounds, though. shame about her singing.

Envy/Jesu split is out now on Daymare Recordings

Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 26 June 2008 13:43 (fifteen years ago) link

!!!!!!! Must get.

I liked the Jarboe album! You're right that it does go downhill after the first couple tracks, but "sinister weather channel music" is a pretty heavy claim.

jonathan - stl, Thursday, 26 June 2008 15:34 (fifteen years ago) link

haven't heard the Broadrick/Jarboe J2 thing yet, must do that soon, note to self...

stephen, Saturday, 28 June 2008 02:52 (fifteen years ago) link

new split with battle of mice (super limited) coming very soon on robotic empire!
