boozer's like 'nuh uh'

6335, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 06:56 (sixteen years ago) link

Well I was clearly wrong about the cavs. I only watched the first game in both of these series; is there a chance in hell utah or cleveland could win?

forksclovetofu, Thursday, 31 May 2007 01:11 (sixteen years ago) link

Er, mass food poisoning? Airplane crash? Gambling scandal?

Aimless, Thursday, 31 May 2007 01:48 (sixteen years ago) link

there's always a chance for cleveland, with detroit's history of braeking heart all time in the playoffs. though i can't see them winning a finals against s.a.

tehresa, Thursday, 31 May 2007 02:15 (sixteen years ago) link

i cant see pistons or cavs taking more than 1 game offa spurs

jhøshea, Thursday, 31 May 2007 13:59 (sixteen years ago) link

awww goin' to ot and i can't watch! i knew this was a bad week to skip bars!

tehresa, Friday, 1 June 2007 03:12 (sixteen years ago) link

grrrrrrrrr

tehresa, Friday, 1 June 2007 03:59 (sixteen years ago) link

omg that was as good a basketball game as i've ever seen

before these last two games i thought the pistons would've had a GRATE shot against the spurs, and i still think they would - they're better than they were in 05 imo and they took san antone to game 7 last time round.

cankles, Friday, 1 June 2007 04:02 (sixteen years ago) link

otoh i don't think the cavs could take 1 out of 50 against the spurs. i dont like the way this looks!!!!!!!!

cankles, Friday, 1 June 2007 04:02 (sixteen years ago) link

also; jesus christ @ lebron

cankles, Friday, 1 June 2007 04:05 (sixteen years ago) link

cankles otm. Seriously LeBron was totally whoa.

Clay, Friday, 1 June 2007 04:14 (sixteen years ago) link

LEBRON = GOD

Mr. Snrub, Friday, 1 June 2007 04:14 (sixteen years ago) link

wow that game.

brownie, Friday, 1 June 2007 13:07 (sixteen years ago) link

Lebron was so great I had chills

speechless at that GODlike performance

Stormy Davis, Friday, 1 June 2007 13:18 (sixteen years ago) link

That was amazing. Instant classic. Lebron finally realizing he is unstoppable. A few days ago, someone on the ESPN radio was wondering aloud if maybe this would be James' version of Jordan's series against the Cavs, a moment you can look back on after a player's been canonized and point to and say "there. that's the beginning of the Legend."

Granny Dainger, Friday, 1 June 2007 21:47 (sixteen years ago) link

all of bron bron's 29 of 30 on this nice clip:

http://broadband.nba.com/cc/playa.php?content=video&url=http://boss.streamos.com/wmedia/nba/nbacom/news/james_zoning_070531.asx

Stormy Davis, Saturday, 2 June 2007 04:06 (sixteen years ago) link

Man, it sad to watch Tayshaun run away from Bron at 00:30 of that clip. yikes. look at that fear, i've never seen that from Prince. crazy.

on the other hand, my guy is playing amazing D at 01:30 of the clip ... and James just hits a fantastic shot. (Chauncey gets right in his face on the very next clip ... and James once again just goes inhuman)

Stormy Davis, Saturday, 2 June 2007 04:09 (sixteen years ago) link

no prince always looks frightened, even when he delivers!

tehresa, Saturday, 2 June 2007 09:25 (sixteen years ago) link

Well, I'm good and surprised by this turn of events. From 0-2 to four in a row and a CLEVELAND finals? So weird.
But can they win more than one against San Antonio? I think i have to keep hating.

forksclovetofu, Sunday, 3 June 2007 05:16 (sixteen years ago) link

What the hell, the Pistons looked horrible last night.

Cavs swept the season series against the Spurs so I'm confident they can win at least one game.

brownie, Sunday, 3 June 2007 15:30 (sixteen years ago) link

i was just about to say... they managed to win 2 during the regular season, though most people will completely ignore this because the cavs always take a drubbing in the court of public opinion.

anyway.

if i were a pistons fan, i would be irate. wallace showed his true colors, the trademark billups smirk didn't make up for uneven play, and saunders seemed to have abandoned the ship. hamilton and weber were in there fighting, and i ended up feeling quite bad for them by the end.

lauren, Sunday, 3 June 2007 15:41 (sixteen years ago) link

i only got to see bits and pieces as i was bar hopping and watching a show, but i did see the end and was very upset, but i was already upset with them as soon as they let cleveland win their first game. that just should not be happening and i really hope someday (ideally next season?) they will get it together and stop losing so stupidly in the playoffs every year.

tehresa, Sunday, 3 June 2007 15:57 (sixteen years ago) link

huge mistake to think that this was going to be a rout/sweep. pistons won the first two by the skin of their teeth, and they didn't quite seem to realize that.

lauren, Sunday, 3 June 2007 16:14 (sixteen years ago) link

Coming off four in a row will give the Cavs a tremendous push into the Finals. On the strength of this alone I think they will pick up two wins and could conceivably win the title, depending on the psychological ebb and flow of the series. The Spurs are a tough nut to crack, but when you have a player playing like Superman, you have a pretty good hammer to crack nuts with.

Aimless, Sunday, 3 June 2007 16:18 (sixteen years ago) link

i can't see the cav's winning a single game. spur's fans, get out the brooms. blech

6335, Monday, 4 June 2007 04:09 (sixteen years ago) link

The Cav kiss of death: Dickie V picked the Cavs in 7.

David R., Monday, 4 June 2007 14:00 (sixteen years ago) link

6335, the Jazz took one from the Spurs, so don't be too quick to yell sweep just yet.

Aimless, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 00:15 (sixteen years ago) link

imo the pistons are one of those teams, like the Rockets, that could go pretty far if they had a real coach~

cankles, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 00:39 (sixteen years ago) link

Rockets just got a real coach: Rick Adelman.

Aimless, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 00:41 (sixteen years ago) link

Cavs getting humiliated

Mr. Snrub, Friday, 8 June 2007 03:13 (sixteen years ago) link

As expected, of course.

Mr. Snrub, Friday, 8 June 2007 03:13 (sixteen years ago) link

:-\

so torn! i hate spurs! i hate cavs! who to hate more!??

tehresa, Friday, 8 June 2007 03:17 (sixteen years ago) link

That was almost like NOT watching a basketball game.
Not with a bang, but a whimper.

forksclovetofu, Friday, 8 June 2007 04:56 (sixteen years ago) link

Can the Cavs sign Tie Domi or Mike Tyson or Chuck Lidell to a 10-day contract so Bowen & Ginobli exit this series shitting through a twisty straw?

David R., Friday, 8 June 2007 15:30 (sixteen years ago) link

David I've been researching your question and the answer appears to be "no".

brownie, Friday, 8 June 2007 17:46 (sixteen years ago) link

Anyway, the Cavs have been denied a sweep but they'll still win in 5.

brownie, Friday, 8 June 2007 17:47 (sixteen years ago) link

more time for gibson, please.

lauren, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:52 (sixteen years ago) link

if last nites game doesnt answer the question posed in this thread title then nothing will

DEATH TO TIM DUNCAN * DEATH TO DAVID STERN

jhøshea, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:57 (sixteen years ago) link

Whatever the question, Gibson is the answer. Also, put Snow on Parker.

brownie, Friday, 8 June 2007 19:16 (sixteen years ago) link

no there is no answer to that - also snow is so so awful

jhøshea, Friday, 8 June 2007 19:19 (sixteen years ago) link

Who's this Gibson? I only know of BOOBIE.

Leee, Friday, 8 June 2007 19:44 (sixteen years ago) link

you know too well, young leee

brownie, Friday, 8 June 2007 19:50 (sixteen years ago) link

"Young"?

Leee, Friday, 8 June 2007 20:07 (sixteen years ago) link

This Finals will at the very least give Lebron a good excuse for quoting from Shakespeare's Anthony and Cleopatra. For example: "I have immortal longings in me" or perhaps, "I am dying, Egypt! Dying!"

Aimless, Monday, 11 June 2007 17:31 (sixteen years ago) link

Cavs have got to win one for christ's sake. I think Snow did a good job on Parker last night when he was in but apparently Hughes is playing no matter what.

brownie, Monday, 11 June 2007 19:33 (sixteen years ago) link

I thought the Cavs were going to get swept; guess I just had the wrong series.
