silhouette mirage is 1 of the 2 i havent played btw

Because I love Silhouette Mirage. I love Bangai-O more. I like twitch games. I used to own the first Lunar, and Alundra was good in a Zelda-y way, but I get impatient about rpgs. I mean, Dragon Warrior 1 was almost hypnotic for me, but after that I think I've never been able to even get halfway through.

Silhouette Mirage is interesting. It's similar to that N64 game Mischief Makers.
It's not that I'm not interested in storytelling in games, but I get impatient about the way the gameplay and story go hand in hand in an rpg. I'd rather read a book.

I think it's interesting the relationships of space you see in RPGs. Like, the square tilesets and superdeformed art style and things like that. It's like hyper campbellian or something. But I think that the breadth of the games are inimical to almost magical effect the primal elements would have on a person. It's like the Bros. Grimm were a piece of rubber and you stretched it out to a gigantic, superflat size.

lunar silver star is my favorite game of all time it seemed completely detached from the reality of the nh boarding school where i 1st played it it has the logic of a dream and the appearance of childhood

The WD style of RPG is definitely richer than Dragon Warrior, I'll admit. At the time I was a teenager, and mostly I watched rather than played, but even there it was a sense of nostalgia and dreaminess that was the appeal (of Lunar and Alundra). My friend and I got into a fight more or less over a cat and I scarcely looked at an RPG again. There was too much of a social component. There still is a great social component to me playing games, and my friends will think that I'm playing them all the time, when in fact it's just them I've talked to about this or that game, regardless of minutes spent on it.

tf5, virtua tennis on dreamcast, and mega man 2 have the hardest rockin' videogame soundtracks, imo.
also, the first two bosses are named "deep purple" and "iron maiden".
