Last night I had a dream that Dee the Lurker was M1ssy Lava11ee, a woman I used to trade mix tapes with back when I was in high school. I think she liked my zine or something; she lived in SF and I wanted to be part of the Gilman crowd at the time.

i dreamt that my sister overheard two of my teachers from primary talking abt me: one of them said "Look at that Mark Sinkah, he's thrown his whole life away — and you I knew what? I always knew he was going to..."

I just dreamt I was back home and David R. hosted a Connecticut FAP at some outdoor mall. The Providence contingent also attended. And Ned, for some reason. Ned and I had to leave early because Marc Almond was performing at the Chili's at the mall. He was opening for some IDM act and we were freaking out because we couldn't remember the secret password to get into the show.

Last night I dreamt I was talking to someone about something and Dan and Ned were in the background cracking snide jokes. (I think it had something to do with the Justin TImberlake thread on ILM.) (That these two have appeared in two dreams now and no other ilxers have is very disturbing.)

I dreamt last night that I was at work and was going from one important meeting to the next, and in bewteen them, I kept getting handed increasingly more urgent phone messages from nickalicious, but every time I'd try to call back, the numbers (which were always different) would never work.

I completely overslept, and possibly as a result, dreamt about posting to ILE. Something about parrots, so it was probably a sublimated sex dream, cause that was the 5th grade slang for "dick." Or maybe it was a statscock-related ream, then. In any case, I don't own a parrot of the feathery sort.

It was all very strange. I think he somehow worked at the court I was trying to get to, and it eventually came out that he was calling to tell me not to forget to bring the file and a spool of thread.

Ned-Marc wants his baby back baby back baby back. It was a secret Marc show, though. That's why we needed the password. He would have been headlining otherwise. I think the dream took place at that Disney mall, the one with the Hard Rock. Except in my dream it was in Connecticut.

Does anybody ever get those dreams where you realize you're in the dream and then sort of weird snapshots of your life start flashing then you get this feeling of euphoria/flying then your breathing gets short and your heart beats really fast, then you start to panic that you're not going to wake up? This happens once every 6 months or so

Yeah, I've gotten those, phil-two. I think. At least it sounds similar enough. Usually it happens when I'm sleep-deprived. (Like if I've only gotten two or three hours or sleep the previous night, and then try to take an afternoon nap.) Mine frequently involve an ominous countdown.

i had a dream in the form of a DOCUMENTARY (or a dream in which "the dream" was a mode documentary... hmm this is a bad start explanation-wise!!)

ANYWAY: the subject was the "Cookery of Tomatoes as an Evolving Symbol in Medieval and Resnaissance Courtship", and there wd be a little scene where ppl acted out some element in this in the middle distance (very Peter Greenaway), then one of them wd come up to the "camera" — ie me and my dreamer's POV — and explain what just went on sociologically

I was walking in Generic City and trying to follow someone named Sean (I don't know any Seans IRL). Then I cross the street and almost run into P Diddy. I call out Sean--since I can't see the Sean I was following anymore--and Puffy thinks I'm trying to accost him. He starts walking faster and looking back nervously. I start following HIM just to tell him that I think he's unworthy to be followed. END OF DREAM

I also had a bizarre HS/college dream, full of huge lectures, trying to remember my locker combo, and helping out this guy--who I knew IRL, but haven't thought about in years--who had become a heroin addict and was OD'ing in class. (jaymc: Ms. Bronchema (sp?) had a bit part)

It wouldn't even make sense for me to type what I remember of my dream, because what I remember has no apparent ILX connection. But I woke up at some stupid hour like 8 or something, one of those rounded ones, and thought, "Damn, that was fucked up. And also, it had ILX in it. I should post .. zzzzz," and promptly went back to sleep where I belonged.

It involved a big desert that I think was Tattooine, and some kind of ... war ... thing. I think I was witnessing some kind of Star Wars-y sort of war, and then posting about it. Or something.

Me: The Verhoeven one, finally?
S: I don't know. Mel Gibson's.
Me: Awwk. Does he play Jesus? I wonder if that's Verhoeven's.
S: He could be good, he did Hamlet.
Me: He's like ten years too old, and besides, you can't spell HAMLET without MEL, everyone knows that. You can spell JESUS without it.
S: So who could play Jesus? Jess?

Last night I had a dream that something crawled out of my bed while I was trying to make it. At first I thought it was an extremely large neon-colored tarantula, but it turned out to be an extremely small neon-colored monkey, and I kept it as a pet. I did a double-take when I saw the "What Do You Want" thread this morning.

Wow, I didn't even know there were Chili's in CT. I wonder if there's one near New London? We can start planning a Christmas FAP way ahead of time. I'll be in Groton and SF Sean will be in Chesire or someplace like that. We can arrange an outlet shopping spree and a visit to the casinos for adventurous NYers.! It'll be fun.

I was in a bookstore and found a lengthy zine written by Hstencil and published through a small press. There was at least one essay that mentioned ILX, including a paragraph where Hstencil included a long list of ILx0rs (NYCers? Derbygoers?). I was not mentioned.

I dreamed they built a scenic walkway over the West Side Highway, except to get to it you had to climb up the side of a slimy mossy rock and swing up on a rope. Then once I was on the walkway, it turned into this narrow "plankway" with no sides (except there were sides, if you believed the sign on the entry to the plankway part -- you just had to trust that you'd stay balanced and not plunge to your death). The plankway offered a nice panoramic view that let me feel like I was walking on air. But it wasn't a view of NYC anymore; it was like a never-ending vista of Mesopotamian ruins.

That's all I remember.

I am so ashamed: I had a Momus dream! I dearly hope it was only a coincidence that this happened the night after I saw the nude picture of him.
So in my dream I have to give a presentation in front of an auditorium full of people. But the student presenting after me brings his friends up to the podium with him, and they're all dressed in expensive-looking Teletubby-like suits. While my presentation had been more mundane, they start performing these dramatic MrWizard/Beakman/Bill Nye type demonstrations. The audience eats it up of course. In my dream I feel that the suits (for some reason) give them an unfair advantage, and the dramatic demonstrations are also kind've cheating or something, so I go into an adjacent room and sulk about thinking that I'd like to have a cigarette if I were a smoker. Then Momus, who was in the audience, comes in and asks what's wrong, and I confide in him how I feel about the other presenters. But THEN he immediately proceeds to go into the auditorium, directly to the podium, and tell everyone there what I had said. He meant well, and everyone pretended to be sympathetic, but I knew that they all were really thinking what a whiney brat I was.

Oh that's totally how most of mine go! Especially high school/college campuses, like in the old buildings and stuff. I always kind've thought that it was just because I enjoy exploring the empty and old parts of buildings and tunnels and stuff in my waking life, but now that I'm starting to get more into the physical side of sleep psychology I think it might have something to do with patterns of hippocampal activation during REM cause like your hippocampus is supposed to have all these projections to your association areas and that whole pathway just lights up when you're doing things involving spatial stuff and learning like exploring novel environments and things.
