Surmounter, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 12:17 (sixteen years ago) link

kv_nol, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 12:18 (sixteen years ago) link

Surmounter, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 12:28 (sixteen years ago) link

It's only september! I'm going for a carvery, I need stodge and a good bitch.

kv_nol, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 12:29 (sixteen years ago) link

september is always such a relief for me it means i've gotten through the tough part. winter here we come. no matter how cliche, i need to write a song about winter and rain and stuff. mmmmmmasdfl;kjas;dlfkjksdj

Surmounter, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 12:34 (sixteen years ago) link

"The tough part"??? Actually that makes more sense if you're not in the eternal rain magnet that is Ireland :(

Also winter means that the slanket (which was great hit btw) will be used more often. By me.

kv_nol, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 12:37 (sixteen years ago) link

That is when I'm allowed to. Winter does enable the inner couch potato we have within us all.

kv_nol, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 12:38 (sixteen years ago) link

Sept is the tough part for me this year. :(

It's pouring out today and I am working from home. ahhhhh!

What is all this copying about then?

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 12:47 (sixteen years ago) link

Rock Hardy gets drunk, photocopies his arse like a demon, pays person working at copyshop discretion money. The usual really...

kv_nol, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:02 (sixteen years ago) link

The colour copies are for the real fans if you know what I mean...

kv_nol, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:02 (sixteen years ago) link

In color no less! wow!

xpost haha

Still a deluge in TX. The dogs are very depressed. I was productive doing work here last night and hoped today would be the same. So far, no. One nap. About to eat the last of the cherry pie.

Where is everyone today?

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:06 (sixteen years ago) link

Back at work, alas.

Michael White, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:08 (sixteen years ago) link

As if that was ever an excuse!

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:11 (sixteen years ago) link

I meant 'work'. Sorry.

Michael White, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:13 (sixteen years ago) link

Okay, I'm back up after Sleep Pt. 2. (4 hours)

Rock Hardy, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:17 (sixteen years ago) link

mmm sleep.

I'm puttering along on my site. I should be more frightened than I am as I've got to demo it a bunch of associate directors next Wed.

I told myself if I finished the templates fairly early today I could go to Target and look for a new lamp.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:18 (sixteen years ago) link

Also I am jealous of Amsterdam.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:32 (sixteen years ago) link

work man. BOSS ugh

Surmounter, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:39 (sixteen years ago) link

I need to go to the bathroom but the cat has settled down beside me and I don't want to disturb her. What to do?

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:47 (sixteen years ago) link

"Also I am jealous of Amsterdam."

Don't be, it's full of stoned out of their shrimp braned Americans. ;-)))

nathalie, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:50 (sixteen years ago) link

I probably wouldn't get too stoned. But it would still be fun! More so than a full, bladder, hot laptop, misbehaving CSS and two dogs staring at me mournfully through the french doors.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:51 (sixteen years ago) link

hehe

i hate disturbing the cat

Surmounter, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:55 (sixteen years ago) link

What to do?

i need to pee. does ilx dare me to wet myself?

onimo, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:56 (sixteen years ago) link

She was disturbed and now has food. She is not unhappy. I'm eating the rest of the pie. Ugh, is it really only 10?

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:59 (sixteen years ago) link

It's 16!

onimo, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:04 (sixteen years ago) link

Well that makes me feel even worse. . .

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:05 (sixteen years ago) link

It's the Twin Towers Memorial Deluge!

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:06 (sixteen years ago) link

Firsst rain in weeks. The birds are going batty.

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:07 (sixteen years ago) link

Turn off the TV Beth.

Really remembering 9/11 right on the heels of remembering Katrina is a depressing double whammy.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:07 (sixteen years ago) link

I'll turn it off. Good idea. After the second tower came down it was just reruns and speculation. I am curious as to how soon the news programming started emblazoning the top of the screen with "AMERICA UNDER ATTACK." Or was it "ATTACK ON AMERICA?"

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:10 (sixteen years ago) link

How fast did they move in w/ the BRANDING of the event?

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:11 (sixteen years ago) link

It was the same day, no?

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:11 (sixteen years ago) link

I was watching online. Don't remember. But I did have bad dreams and was depressed for awhile. ugh.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:12 (sixteen years ago) link

Beth, it was within an hour iirc.

kv_nol, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:13 (sixteen years ago) link

Huh, rain stopped? That was a putzy effort. However 9/11 rehash is continuing unabated. Good thing we whupped all them Eye-Rack-Eeze.

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:23 (sixteen years ago) link

On another note, we stopped by Scott and Maria's house yesterday and admired the spanking-new Title 5 septic!

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:26 (sixteen years ago) link

?

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:28 (sixteen years ago) link

A very expensive mandated septic leach-field. All waste water drains into a series of "infiltrators" (seriously)—big plastic tube things lying on a bed of gravel, covered with more gravel and then topsoil. A title-5 system for one household is the size of a fucking tennis court. Looks like it's meant to service an entire town.

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:32 (sixteen years ago) link

They used to just bury an old car.

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:32 (sixteen years ago) link

This is surely better than a car.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:33 (sixteen years ago) link

Please say you're joking about the car!

kv_nol, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:35 (sixteen years ago) link

No, the car is for real. Old-timer ways.
Supposedly the title-5 systems do a worse job w/ breaking down the nitrogen than the old-fashioned methods. More big plumes making their way to bodies of water. Being that we are in Massachusetts, there's probably some graft involved in the legislation. Manufacturers of "infiltrators?"

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:38 (sixteen years ago) link

What people should do is shunt all their "gray water" from showers, kitchen sink and laundry into a dry-well—a gravel-lined pit. Toilets ideally should be the composting variety, but if they aren't a smeller leach field can easily deal with the sewage if it's not getting all the gray water too. Dry wells are illegal, but most officials turn a blind eye. We have one. It needs some maintenance—the outflow hose from the washer geysers a bit. There must be some blockage. If you don't lay a towel on the bathroom floor you get a serious flood, which makes its way to the crack in the linoleum at the corner of the shower stall. Where the floor if quite, shall we say, spongy. Sigh.

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:50 (sixteen years ago) link

"smeller leach field"

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:51 (sixteen years ago) link

Beth drops sewage science.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:51 (sixteen years ago) link

Floor IS quite. Lordy, I'm not even drunk.

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:51 (sixteen years ago) link

If you drop the sewage, you need the science.

Beth Parker, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:52 (sixteen years ago) link

I get all passionate and nongrammatical on the subject of sewage.
