Right. This is a common problem among British actors, less so among American actors.

Emma Thompson's emerged from this completely unscathed, you'd think someone would be gunning for her (not me, I don't have much of an opinion either way).

Pauline Kael is dead, and so is that initial phase of Streep's career. Not that I'm defending her doing Mamma Mia.

Streep is a riot in Manchurian Demmedate if you just forget about the first version.

Hey, this is a board that listed 1980 as the cut-off date.

We totally disagree – she's improved, warmed, whatever. She's insufferable in The French Lieutenant's Woman, Sophie's Choice and In the Still of the Night.

One of my friends went to college with Jodi Foster. Said she was very nice.

Laura Linney is massively overrated but I don't hate her. Actually I don't hate most of the actresses on this list but I hate some of the movies they were in with a fiery passion.

(For example, I love Nicole Kidman to death but MY GOD "THE HOURS" WAS A GIGANTIC PILE OF HORSESHIT)

Actually the only one I really hate is Julianne Moore.

even if Linney never made a good movie ever again, I would have to love her because of You Can Count on Me.
