Winslow - that is so classic. Can't believe I forgot that one.

In a way, it sort of brings them full circle back to "Tarkus", no?

Oh, I can't even begin to tell you how much I despise that Brutal Truth cover.

Oh, I just remembered this one, which is far too common in the used bins:

Gotta love the lens flare on the sunglasses.

Didn't Mayhem once take a photo of their singer's corpse when he shot himself in the head, and use THAT as an album cover? Someone put that one up, I'd like to see that.

Wow, that's Michael Des Barres!!! (later of Chequered Past, the touring incarnation of the Power Station and....er..Scum of the Earth on "WKRP in Cincinatti!"

I still say it's that fucking NOFX album, which I saw today, inexplicably on prominent display in the Tower on 66th--I mean, why? Why are they displaying like 30 copies of a NOFX album from almost 10 years ago? Am I missing something? Is there a NOFX revival going on? If there is, I'm glad I'm missing it.

Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! This thread had me giggling!

There are some artists so charismatic they can actually make you question every tenet in your personal code of 'design sound practise'. And others who fight that battle bravely, and lose.

Momus (Momus), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:51 (10 years ago) Permalink

and what's Daydream Nation doing there??? that's one of my favorite Richter paintings! And it works incredibly well as a cover for that album. One of the songs is even called 'Candle' duh.

Good bloody lord, is that that actual cover? What's happened to Derek Riggs' signature paintings? That looks like a half-assed still from "Eyes Wide Shut"!

whomever thinks that MBV couldn't afford a good photographer for their record covers must also think they screwed up and accidentally mixed the vocals too low.
